4-Speed XT Herbicide
4-Speed XT Herbicide is a powerful, fast-acting post-emergent herbicide that eliminates a wide range of broadleaf weeds and woody brush in lawns, golf courses, and other various settings.
11/04/25
4-Speed XT Herbicide, manufactured by Nufarm, is an effective post-emergent herbicide that combines four active ingredients - triclopyr, dicamba, 2,4-D, and pyraflufen ethyl - delivering rapid and long-lasting weed control.
With its ability to target hard-to-kill weeds like dandelion, clover, chickweed, and ground ivy, 4-Speed XT Herbicide is a top choice for landscapers, lawn care professionals, and turf managers. It offers excellent results while maintaining the health and integrity of desirable turfgrass species.
4-Speed XT Herbicide is a professional four-way mode of action herbicide that provides fast weed knockdown, resulting in efficient weed control within 24 hours.
Tools Needed
It can be applied with a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, spray rig, or other lawn-type sprayers.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much 4-Speed XT Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat turf (except bentgrass), apply 1.1 to 1.5 fl. oz. of 4-Speed XT Herbicide per 0.1 to 5.0 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For bentgrass, apply 0.67 fl. oz. of product per 3.3 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the spray tank and shake until solution is well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. If hand-type sprayers are used, it is preferable to use a single-nozzle sprayer rather than a multiple-nozzle boom, as sideways application with a boom where the spray from more than one nozzle is allowed to fall on the same area will result in heavy local over-application and subsequent turf discoloration or injury. Make no more than 2 broadcast applications per year, excluding spot treatments, with a minimum of 30 days between applications.
Where to Use
4-Speed XT Herbicide can be used for golf courses, ornamental lawns, cemeteries, athletic fields, roadsides, parks, sod farms, sports fields, native grass areas, highways, rights-of-way, and other non-crop areas.
When to Use
For best results, apply this product to young, actively growing weeds as a postemergence broadcast or spot spray.
Do not apply to newly sodded, sprigged, or plugged grasses for at least 3 to 4 weeks after the sodding, sprigging, or plugging operations.
Safety Information
4-Speed XT Herbicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets out of the treated area until the spray solution has dried.
Special Considerations
Reseed no sooner than 2 weeks after application of this product. In areas that are slit seeded, to assure seed soil contact, reseeding interval may be reduced to 7 days.
