How to Use

• Step 1: Inspect the 3M Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator before use for any tears or other signs of damage. Next, attach the 3M Half Facepiece Respirator onto the face piece by lining up the grooves on the bayonet connectors, pushing them together, and giving it a one-quarter turn. There are two methods of putting on the respirator to ensure it fits properly on your face. With the standard method, start by holding the face piece up to cover your nose and mouth, then pull the harness over your head. The alternate method is handy when wearing this respirator with a hard hat. First, fit the harness over your head. Keep one hand on the face piece and grip the strap ends with the other, then pull the face piece onto your face.
• Step 2: Once you have fit the mask onto your head, grab the lower straps, place them behind your neck, and hook them together. Tighten the upper straps, then tighten the lower straps until you have a secure and balanced fit. Be careful not to over-tighten.
• Step 3: Before entering a contaminated area, you must perform a positive or negative pressure user seal check to ensure your mask is working properly. To perform a positive pressure user seal check, cover the opening in the exhaustion valve on the front of the facepiece. Gently exhale. The mask is properly sealed if the facepiece bulges slightly and no air leaks are detected.
• Step 4: To perform a negative pressure user seal check, use both hands to cover the filter cartridges. This time, gently inhale. If properly sealed, the mask should collapse slightly and move closer to your face.

It is recommended for use indoors, where ventilation is limited. This respirator can also be used in other industries, such as construction, sanitation, or manufacturing.

Do not use it when the chemical or particulate matter concentration is 10 times the exposure limit or when oxygen is less than 19.5%.
