Wilco Zinc Phosphide Gopher Bait

Free Shipping on All Orders

Wilco Gopher Bait with zinc phosphide is an excellent alternative bait for gophers from regular strychnine grain baits. Zinc phosphide is a very effective poison that is non toxic unless ingested. It is much safer than strychnine based gopher baits. Once ingested zinc phosphide creates toxic phosphene gas in the rodent causing death. This gopher bait can be broadcast and used above on top of the soil making it much more versitile and easier to use than strychnine.

Target Pests

Wilco Zinc Phosphide Gopher Bait can be used to control pocket gophers meadow voles prairie voles pine voles california voles and townsend's voles.

For Use In

Wilco Gopher bait can be used in both sub soil and above soil applications. To inject into the sub soil you will need an accessory application tool.

Sub Soil applications of Gopher Bait require you to find the pocket gopher burrow by plunging a metal rod into the ground. When the rod moves much easier you have found a burrow tunnel. Apply 1 teaspoon of bait in the tunnel and cover back with dirt so as to leave the tunnel undisturbed. When the pocket gophers eat the bait they will die within 3-4 hours.

For broadcast applications above the soil use approximately 6lbs of zinc phosphide gopher bait per acre. Do not apply to bare ground, the surface must have some vegetation for proper application.

Coverage Area

It takes 6lbs of zinc phosphide gopher bait to cover one acre of land with broadcast application. For sub soil applications each pound of gopher bait will treat 1 to 8 acres of property for pocket gophers depending on infestation levels.

Time to Kill

The zinc phosphide in Wilco Gopher Bait will kill gophers within a few hours after they eat it.
