Velista Fungicide
Velista Fungicide
Velista Fungicide, manufactured by Syngenta, is a powerful preventative and curative fungicide that delivers excellent control over various turf diseases all year round without stunting growth of turf and no phytotoxicity effects.
This professional water-dispensable granular fungicide ensures turf remains in excellent condition with a new type of active ingredient penthiopyrad 50.0%. The ingredient is a SDHI (succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor), meaning it can easily be rotated with other other fungicides with minimum resistance effects.
Velista Fungicide is an easy to use fungicide that can be used season to season and creates a residual barrier of 14 to 21 days long. Outstanding turf disease control is further guaranteed, with this products ability to become rainfast after drying, and its ability to function well during high humidity or temperature conditions.
Tools Needed
To apply Velista Fungicide, you will need to use either a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Velista Fungicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For preventative disease control in all turfgrass, use 0.3 oz. of Velista Fungicide in 1 to 10 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For high levels of disease outbreaks on all turf types, use 0.5 oz. of product in 1 to 10 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. To control large patch and gray snow mold on turf types, apply 0.7 oz. of product in 10 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Do not apply more than 0.7 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. per application to turf grass.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Velista Fungicide, then continue filling with the remaining half of water while agitating to keep the product in suspension. Make sure the product is completely dissolved in water before application.
- Step 3: Spray the Velista Fungicide mixture to the top and bottom of turf leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Allow treated area to dry before irrigation.
Where to Use
Velista Fungicide can be used on turfgrasses of home lawns, residential dwellings, business and office complexes, shopping complexes, multi-family residential complexes, institutional buildings, airports, cemeteries, golf courses (tee box areas, roughs, fairways, greens, collars), athletic fields and commercial sod farms.
Do not apply this product in commercial nurseries and greenhouses.
When to Use
Begin applications of Velista Fungicide before diseases appear on turf and before the weather begins to change during the spring, summer, and fall. This product can also be applied when disease is in early stages of development.
This product is best applied to turf after mowing. Also, allow treated areas to dry before mowing.
Do not apply when rainfall is expected to occur within 48 hours of application.
Safety Information
Velista Fungicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets away from areas treated with this product until treated area has dried.
