Vector-Ban Plus Permethrin Insecticide, manufactured by Control Solutions Inc., is a powerful multi-purpose insecticide that contains two active ingredients: a quick kill and residual control of difficult-to-control pests like mosquitoes.
Formulated with permethrin 10.0% to provide a fast kill of various pests and piperonyl butoxide 10.0% to increase this insecticide's effectiveness against these pests upon application and for greater residual control for up to 30 days. This safe-to-use insecticide provides a variety of application methods, including direct pour-on treatments on listed livestock and dogs against ticks or lice infestations.
Vector-Ban Plus Permethrin Insecticide's unique design ensures that most ornamental plants and shrubs in backyards and lawns will be safe and not suffer damage from other insecticide applications.
Tools Needed
You may use a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, ULV cold fogger, automatic mosquito misting system, or skid sprayer. We recommend using a handheld pump sprayer for cracks and crevices.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Vector-Ban Plus Permethrin Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the treatment areas' length and width in feet and multiply them together (length x width = square footage). Vector-Ban can be applied anywhere from 3.2 fl oz. to 6.4 fl oz. per gallon of water depending on the pest and severity of the infestation. So, for example, if you were treating for mosquitoes using the 6.4 fl. oz. rate and calculated a 3,000 sq. ft. area to treat, you would need to measure out 19.2 fl oz. of Vector-Ban to mix in 3 gallons of water.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half of the required amount of water. Shake the Vector-Ban concentrate, then add the appropriate amount to the sprayer based on your calculations. Fill with the remaining 1/2 of water, close the sprayer lid, and shake the sprayer tank until it is thoroughly mixed.
- Step 3: Apply the spray to the outdoor or indoor areas specified on the label. Use a fan spray nozzle for uniform coverage outdoors or a pin stream for crack and crevice applications indoors. Direct the spray into hiding places, cracks, and crevices, under pallets, around containers of stored foods, around the base of machinery, and behind shelves and drawers.
Where to Use
Vector-Ban Plus is ideal for residential areas, restaurants, farms, bakeries, motels, meat packing facilities, and more. It can be applied on non-food and non-feed indoor areas in milk rooms, utility closets, storage rooms, offices, locker rooms, areas around baseboards, floors, walls, ceilings, windows, and doors, under machines, mattresses, and fabrics.
For outdoor use, this product can be applied in and around barns, lawns, flower beds, and kennels, as well as around residential or commercial areas in mosquito misting systems.
Vector-Ban Plus can also be applied to dairy and beef cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, poultry animals, and dogs.
It cannot be applied to cats.
When to Use
Apply as soon as targeted insects are noticed. Vector-Ban Plus can also be applied as a preventative treatment to various surfaces before insect activity is seen. It is an excellent product for preventing mosquitoes from swarming pool decks, patios, and other outdoor recreational areas.
Safety Information
Vector-Ban Plus is safe to use around children, pets, and livestock when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.
Except when applying to pets or livestock or through outdoor residential misting systems, do not enter or allow others to enter until vapors, mists, and aerosols have dispersed and the area has been thoroughly ventilated.
Special Considerations
Vector-Ban Plus can only be applied to label-listed animals. This versatile product has specific instructions for the type of insect being controlled, so it is essential to read the label before applying. When using automatic mosquito misting systems, mix up to 1/2 to 1 gallon of Vector-Ban Plus in 55 gallons of water.
