Trimmit 2SC PGR

Trimmit 2SC PGR, manufactured by Syngenta, is a well-refined liquid plant growth regulator containing paclobutrazol, a systemic triazole compound that inhibits gibberellic acid biosynthesis. This slows down cell elongation in turfgrasses, reducing vertical growth and improving turf density and appearance.

This suspended concentrate helps better refine turf appearance by encouraging a denser, more uniform turf by reducing vertical shoot growth. It also supports weed control by suppressing seedhead formation, reducing reproductive capabilities of unwanted species like Poa annua.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Trimmit 2SC PGR to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For warm-seasoned and cool-seasoned turf (except putting greens), apply 32.0 oz. of Trimmit 2SC PGR 100 gallons of water per acre. For bentgrass putting greens, use 16.0 oz. of product per 100 gallons of water per acre. For overseeded bermudagrass, apply 10.0 oz. of product per 100 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
• Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the tank lid and shake until the solution is dissolved. 
• Step 3: Apply treatment solution uniformly to the turf. For best results, apply 0.25 inch of water within 24 hours after application to remove the product from the foliage and onto the soil surface.

Where to Use

Trimmit 2SC PGR is for non-residential turfgrass.

Do not use on residential lawns, industrial rights-of-way, shrubs, flowers, fruits, or vegetable plants (applications to turf areas under trees will not affect/harm trees).

When to Use

For warm-seasoned grasses: Use anytime when established hybrid bermudagrass and St. Augustinegrass are green, actively growing and have recovered from dormancy (filled in fully following winter).

For cool-seasoned grasses: Apply in spring after green-up and after turf has been mowed once or twice. Apply at least 1 month before onset of high air temperatures. In late summer/early fall, apply at least 1 month before anticipated first killing frost.

Trimmit 2SC PGR is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Special Considerations

If crabgrass or other annual grassy weeds have been a problem in the past, an application of the appropriate preemergence weed control product should be made before the use of Trimmit 2SC. Space the applications of Trimmit 2SC and oxadiazon-based preemergence products at least 4 weeks apart on putting greens.

Do not seed within 6 weeks prior to or 2 weeks after application of this product.
