Triad QC Select
Triad QC Select
Triad QC Select, manufactured by Prime Source LLC, is a selective post-emergent herbicide that provides superior control over a large variety of broadleaf and grassy weeds like chickweed or Fescue.
As a selective liquid concentrate herbicide it can be applied when crabgrass is newly germinated 1 to 2 leaf growth, to 1-tiller, and when crabgrass has matured to 5-tillers or greater. Due to its formulation, Triad QC Select will quickly soak into the foliage through its leaves and roots and move throughout the plant to effectively kill it.
Triad QC Select is ideal for late season clean-up of weeds to areas that did not receive pre-emergent herbicide applications the previous spring season.
Tools Needed
To apply Triad QC Select, you will need a backpack sprayer or pump sprayer. For broadcast applications you will want to use a backpack sprayer whereas with spot treatments you will need a pump sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Do not mow 2 days before or two days after application. Grass clippings from the first three mowing's must be left in the application area. Determine how much Triad QC Select to use by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. If you are unsure, then measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet and multiply (length X width = square footage). To find acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre 43,560 (square footage / 43,560 = acreage). Broadcast applications for ornamental turf and sod will use 7 to 8 pints of Triad QC Select per 20 to 300 gallons of water per acre. Spot applications for ornamental turf and sod apply at a rate of 2.6 to 2.9 oz. of product per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Do not apply more than 16 pints of this product per acre per year. Refer to the label for specific application rates.
- Step 2: Fill your selected sprayer halfway with the required amount of water, then add in the measured amount of Triad QC Select. Fill the sprayer the rest of the way with the remaining amount of water and then agitate the spray mixture until you are ready to spray.
- Step 3: Adjust the spray pressure of your nozzle from 20 to 40 PSI on a fan-spray setting for uniform application. Coat the top and bottom of targeted weeds leaves until wet, but not to the point of run-off. Once 24 hours have passed you may irrigate your treated area with 0.5 inches of water. If rainfall or watering has not occurred after 2 days then results from Traid QC Select will vary.
Where to Use
Triad QC Select can be used on residential and commercial warm-seasoned turfgrasses, including lawns or grounds around residential and commercial establishments, multi-family dwellings, military and other institutions, parks, airports, roadsides, schools, picnic grounds, athletic fields, houses of worship, cemeteries, golf courses, and sod farms (except in Arizona).
Do not use on golf course greens, tees, collars, lawns with desirable clovers or legumes, or ornamentals.
When to Use
Use Triad QC Select during warm weather when rainfall and high wind volumes are not predicted for 24 hours. Broadcast and spot applications must be avoided when wind and temperatures exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit as turf injury may occur.
For best results, apply when weeds are relatively young as annual grass weeds at 2 to 4-tiller stage of growth may not provide complete control.
Safety Information
Triad QC Select is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or handling this product.
Children, pets, and other individuals are not allowed to enter treated areas until 48 hours have passed from first application.
