Talstar P Professional
Talstar P Professional
Talstar P (aka Talstar, Talstar Pro, or Talstar Professional), manufactured by FMC Technologies, is a professional-grade insecticide that will treat and control over 75 insects found inside and outside building structures. With various types of application methods, Talstar P Professional will eliminate fleas, cockroaches, spiders, bed bugs, and more.
This long-lasting insecticide contains the active ingredient Bifenthrin 7.9%, which targets the insects nervous system, disorienting the insect to the point where they die. Once applied it serves as a repellent creating a barrier treatment against nuisance pests for up to 90 days.
Talstar P is water-based, odorless, contains no plant-damaging chemicals, and will not leave behind a visible residue on plants. This product is also ideal for professional use as an outside termite treatment for residential foundations. Talstar P Professional is a versatile insect treatment product to ensure pests that are hiding in cracks, crevices, soil, plants, and other areas will be eliminated.
Tools Needed
For treatment applications of Talstar P, you can use a hand-pump sprayer, hose-end sprayer, or a backpack sprayer. Spray rigs can be used for large volume applications. If using Talstar P to treat termites through trenching, you will need a pickaxe or shovel to dig a trench, and a bucket with at least a 5 gallon capacity. Termite injection tools for treating under slabs will also be needed.
How to Use
Step 1: First, determine how much Talstar P Professional you need by measuring the treatment area. You can do this by multiplying the length and width of your selected area to get the total square footage (length x width = square footage.) For general pest control indoors and outdoors, we recommend spraying at either a 0.02% dilution at 0.33 fl. oz. in a gallon of water to cover 1,000 sq. ft., or a 0.06% dilution at 1 fl. oz. per 1 gallon of water to cover 1,000 sq. ft. Use the higher rate for a heavy pest infestation, a quicker knockdown or longer residual control. For example, if you have a 2,000 square foot area to be treated at a 0.06% dilution, you would need 2 oz of Talstar P mixed with 2 gallons of water.
Step 2: Now that you have finished measuring your treatment area, it is time to create your solution. Fill your tank with the required amount of water, then add your measured amount of Talstar P Professional. Shake well to create a thorough solution. If you choose to mix in an additional product, such as an insect growth regulator, add it to the solution and shake again.
Step 3: Apply the Talstar Pro mixture as a coarse, low-pressure spray to your target areas. Outdoors, spray common entry points, such as windows, doors, voids where plumbing penetrates the walls, and eaves. For perimeter treatments, spray 2 to 3 feet up the structure's foundation, and spray 6 to 10 feet out.
For indoor spraying, only use Talstar Pro as a crack-and-crevice or spot spray to areas pests like to hide, such as under appliances, under sinks, on baseboards, or around doors and windows.
Termite Control: Talstar P can be applied as a perimeter trench treatment using 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet at a rate of 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water.
Where to Use
Talstar Pro can be used for residential, industrial, livestock, barn, commercial, and food-handling areas. It can be sprayed around doors, windows, wall voids, and weep holes. It is ideal for outdoor treatments on surface areas around building structures such as exterior siding, foundations, porches, trees, flowerbeds, and shrubs.
When to Use
Use Talstar P Professional as a quick knockdown treatment when you notice insect activity. It can also be used as a preventative treatment plan for fleas with a residual that lasts for up to 90 days and house fly control that lasts for up to 30 days. Re-treating areas should occur no more than once every 7 days when there are signs of new insect activity. When spraying outdoors, it is best to apply Talstar P Professional in the morning when temperatures and wind speeds are generally low.
Safety Information
Talstar P Professional is safe around children and pets when used according to the product label. Read the product label before making any applications, as Talstar P can be applied to various surfaces in different ways. Allow the product to completely dry before re-entering the treated area. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying Talstar P Professional.
Special Considerations
Individuals and companies need the proper licensing before using Talstar P Professional as an outdoor termiticide around the perimeter of a building structure.

I have a pet so I just let her out when I'm spraying inside and back in when it has dried. Have not had any problems with animals being around Talstar.
I originally had this applied by a pest control company and they stated the amount and dilution on the receipt so I followed the regimen they set up and now it is much less costly and I can do it when it is convenient.
I recommend this product to folks that need an effective bug stopper for their home.

Q:Is there a liquid insecticide that kills flea larvae and eggs? How often should you spray/ apply shockwave aerosol if used inside a vehicle? Can the Georgia 95 degree sun kill fleas inside a vehicle? Would dusting with Drione help get rid of them in conjunction with heat? Is there a better way to get rid of fleas in a vehicle? I have sprayed and professionals exterminators too. We all have failed. My final plan is to ship the car to Georgia, I live in Michigan. Please anwser all questions. Desperate for resolution. I do have Onslaught Fast Cap5/5/24A:We do not sell shockwave aerosol so it would best to refer to the label for that one. Adult fleas can perish when temperatures are hotter than 95 degrees Fahrenheit, but there is not much information on how this effects immature fleas and their eggs. However, this method should not be solely relied on as these pests can escape to a shaded or damp place to survive the heat. Drione Dust and Onslaught FastCap Insecticide will not control fleas in a vehicle. Q:How is this for your pets?9/5/22A:It must dry before it is pet safe. Do not let pets or children in the area being sprayed for that day. I began using this product when I owned a restaurant and it was the only pesticide that was safe enough to use around food equipment. It works great for many different kinds of insects-long lasting too.
