For a deeper and more effective blue indicator, check out Vision Pro Max. It is the strongest, highest concentrated blue marking dye on the market and is specially formulated for professionals who need a reliable and flexible spray indicator.

Super Marking Dye- Blue is a high strength blue marking dye that is a colorant used to monitor spray applications. The dye helps during the spraying process by making it easy to indicate where you have sprayed to prevent overspray and drift into unwanted areas.

Unlike other dyes, this marking dye mixes easily and is stronger so you may use less without harming functionality or effectiveness of your chosen pesticide. Super Marking Dye- Blue is flexible, user-friendly, non-hazardous, and disappears in any weather condition.

Tools Needed

To use Super Marking Dye, you will need to mix the product with a selected pesticide in a handheld sprayer, a backpack sprayer or a professional pesticide spraying rig.

How to Use

Pouring Super Marking Dye in Sprayer

  • Step 1: Mix your pesticide concentrate with water in your selected spraying container. Follow the pesticide label directions for proper mix and usage rates, filling the sprayer or tank halfway with water, adding the appropriate amount of pesticide, then filling the sprayer with the remaining half of water.
  • Step 2: Add in the marking dye to the sprayer based on how much liquid you have and the container size. Typically the rate is 4 to 12 ounces per 100 gallons of spray solution. However, for a stronger and more reliable blue, we recommend mixing 32 ounces per 100 gallons of spray solution. For smaller spray applications using backpacks and small sprayers, use 0.33 to 0.66 oz, (approximately 2 to 4 tsp.) per three-gallon tank. Agitate the sprayer so the dye mixes well.
  • Step 3: Apply the dyed spray mixture to the selected areas for treatment.

Where to Use

Spraying marking dye mixture on weeds

Super Marking Dye can be used in aquatic, industrial, municipal, utility, right-of way and any other applications where its necessary to use pesticides, herbicides, and/or fertilizers.

When to Use

Use Super Marking Dye when you would like to easily monitor a spray application and prevent drift or overapplying in areas, especially areas which are sensitive to pesticides.

Safety Information

Super Marking Dye is safe to use when applied according to label directions. Always have on the necessary PPE (gloves, glasses, face mark) when mixing and applying chemicals.

Special Considerations

Alligare Super Marking Dye disappears rapidly in any weather condition, and blends completely with pesticides (insecticides and herbicides) and fertilizers, without influencing their effectiveness.

Unmarked, Unbranded Package
Not sure wht I got since the bottle was unmarked and unbranded. Not as strong as the last bottle I had that was marked and branded Alligare. The blue marking was very faint and difficult to distinguish.

Worked on Concrete, Gravel - Not Grass or Weeds
I noticed other users said it was wonderful, showed up everywhere they sprayed it. I ONLY noticed it where I sprayed herbicide along concrete walkways or around gravel beds. Also showed up very well on my hands - be sure to use gloves!! I could not see it AT ALL when sprayed on weeds or grass! Perhaps it only works on certain types of weeds?? I won't tell anyone else not to buy it, but I am thoroughly disappointed with this Dye. (The Eraser Herbicide however is amazing! I highly recommend that!).

Marker dye
The marking dye works like it's suppose to. I did have to use 10-12 ounces per 30 gallons of spray to get the shade I needed to mark where I had sprayed.

Easy to use. Just add it to your weed killer in your hand sprayer or pull behind 25 gallon sprayer like we did.

Liking the color blue even more.
The blue marking dye worked great and allowed me to see where I'd been and where I needed to go! I guess that's why it was designed to work that way. Thanks for a great product.

Great for basal bark herbicide treatment
I used this dye in a mix of diesel fuel and Crossbow for basal bark treatment on bush honeysuckle. It shows up well to mark which stems I have already sprayed.

  1. Q:ls it ok to use this on a white rocked driveway? Will it stain the rocks permanently?
    2/7/23
A:In my experience it won’t stain them permanently, but they could be blue for a long, long time. Duration will depend on how much direct sun and/or rain you get. I would not use this product in that particular application.

  2. Q:Is the Super Marking Dye compatible with Methylated Seed Oil surfactant?
    7/21/21
  3. Q:Will this affect cattle grazing?
    2/12/21
A:Label says harmful if swallowed. And since I also live on a ranch with Cattle and know how nosey they are I would not use this in a pasture. I am sure they would be curious and eat the blue colored grass.

  4. Q:Can I mix it with anything, not only herbicides, but also with pesticides and liquid fertilizers?
    1/22/21
A:Yes. You can mix with any other liquid except no liquid meant for ingestion by human or animal.

  5. Q:Is the dye permanent if it dries on fiberglass?
    10/8/20
A:I can't speak specifically about fiberglass, but I have never had anything permanently stained by this dye. I've gotten full concentration drops on clothes, concrete, plastic, steel, brick, and wood and it always washes off or fade away after a few days. It takes some effort to get it off your skin, but it does come of with plenty of scrubbing.

  6. Q:I’m using tenacity, which you can spray right over new grass seed. Will this marking die affect the grass seed/new seedlings?
    9/19/20
A:No. Marking dye is basically colored water and in itslf should not have any effect on seed or plant(s). Other than making them wet .. and blue!

  8. Q:Can it go with MSM Turf Herbicide (Manor)?
    10/10/19
A:Probably. But, take it from me - pay the little extra and buy the Alligaire brand stuff - 1/2 as much goes twice as far! This stuff was ridiculously ineffective at allowing us to see any indication of where we had delayed it! We wound us using so much of this stuff per gallon it wound up actually being more expensive than the Alligaire brand , in the long run ... Caveat Emptor!

  9. Q:Will it mix with oil base herbicide?

A:Yes, You can mix this dye with any type of herbicide. Just make sure that you follow the label.

  10. Q:What is the shelf life of this product? How long can I continue using the contents after opening the bottle?
    7/20/18
A:It is just an indicator dye. So even if it hardens in the future you add water and it is fine. However I will say I have seen it last 3 or more years on a shelf and still be as good as when you bought it.
