Summit Tick & Flea Spray, manufactured by Summit Chemical, is a powerful insecticide that quickly removes ticks and other pests such as fleas from outdoor landscaped or bushy areas.

Containing the active ingredient permethrin 2.5%, recognized as a superior insect control chemical that will cause muscle spasms, paralysis, and then death in listed pests.

Summit Tick & Flea Spray is an ideal product that provides a quick knockdown of pests upon contact and continuously repels them from the treated area for a month without harming desired foliage.

Tools Needed

To apply Summit Tick & Flea Spray, you can use a handheld pump sprayer or hose-end sprayer. We recommend using a handheld pump sprayer for easier control during applications.

Not for use in outdoor residential misting systems.

How to Use

Spraying Turf

  • Step 1: Thoroughly wet down grass a few hours before application to help draw soil dwelling pests to the surface to make contact with Summit Tick & Flea Spray. Remove pets, birds, and cover fish aquariums in the application site before spraying this product. Determine how much Summit Tick & Flea Spray to use by calculating the square footage of the area to be treated. To do this, measure the treatment areas length and width and follow the formula (length X width = square footage). A standard application will use 1.28 oz. (2.56 tbsp.) of Summit Tick & Flea Spray per 1 gallon of water.
  • Step 2: Fill your sprayer halfway with water, then add the measured amount of Summit Tick & Flea Spray, and fill the rest of the way with remaining half of water. Secure the lid to the spray tank and shake until evenly mixed.
  • Step 3: Spray until the top and bottom of leaves are wet to the point of run-off, except on trees and shrubs. The target pest and plant should be completely covered with spray. Applications to building surfaces should not exceed a height of 3 feet. Wait until treated areas are dry before lightly watering. For heavy infestations in grasses, you may repeat application after 2 weeks from first application.

Where to Use

Use Summit Tick & Flea Spray on your yard, lawns, turfs, patio, plants, flowers, outside building foundations, trees, shrubs, cherry, honeysuckle, conifers, elm, Douglas fir, grand firs, non-bearing citrus, oak, pine, bent grass, Bermuda grass, bluegrass, dichondra grass, fescue grass, Irish moss, Merion grass, St. Augustine grass, sidewalks, driveways, patios, porches, and structural surfaces (such as windows, doors, and eaves).

When to Use

Summit Tick & Flea Spray should be used when pest activity first occurs or at the beginning of spring and summer as this when pests are still relatively young. To ensure success, spray this product in the late evening when sun is not as strong and when rain is not predicted for 24 hours.

The best times to spray are early evening and early morning. When treating home lawns, it should be no taller than 3 inches at time of application.

Safety Information

Summit Tick & Flea Spray is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or spraying this product.

Children, adults, and pets should not be allowed to enter the treated areas until sprays have dried.

Special Consideration

All outdoor applications to impervious surfaces such as sidewalks, driveways, patios, porches, and structural surfaces (such as windows, doors, and eaves) are limited to spot and crack-and-crevice applications, only.

When treating for tent caterpillars, you will need to wet tents with mixed Summit Tick & Flea Spray solution on all sides of it. A few caterpillars may be seen escaping from the tent, however, they should die within several hours.
