SPIKE 20P Herbicide, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is a valuable granular herbicide that provides long-term weed control against the toughest infestations.

Its active ingredient, tebuthiuron, works by inhibiting photosynthesis in target weeds, effectively preventing their growth and development.

SPIKE 20P Herbicide clears out tall weed species such as big sage, shinnery and other oaks, tarbush and creosote bush, while enhancing the grazing and wildlife habitat.

Tools Needed

SPIKE 20P Herbicide can be used with a handheld spreader, broadcast spreader or push spreader.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much SPIKE 20P Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, mesaure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For non-croplands, use 3/8 to 1 1/8 oz. of SPIKE 20P Herbicide per 100 sq. ft. Do not apply this product more than once per year. Refer the label for specific applcation rates.
  • Step 2: Calibrate the spreader to the proper ratios then load the correct amount of SPIKE 20P Herbicide pellets.
  • Step 3: Ensure thorough coverage of the target area while avoiding overspray onto non-target vegetation.

SPIKE 20P Herbicide can be used along highways, Fence rows, Firebreaks, Industrial sites, Clearings for wildlife habitat, Other non-cropland areas for control Of woody plant species, Utility rights-of-way, Pastureland, Pipelines, Railroad rights-of-way, and Rangelands.
