Tools Needed

You will need a drill with a 1-inch bit to create the required holes, a measuring tape or ruler to ensure proper depth and placement, and a scale or scoop to measure about 1/4 pound of product per hole.

You will also need a water source, such as a hose or watering can, to fill the holes after adding the product.

If you plan to burn the stump, additional items include kerosene or fuel oil, a long torch, safety glasses, and a fire extinguisher or water source for safety.

How to Use

• Step 1: For stumps up to 1 foot in diameter, drill a 1-inch hole in the center about 6–8 inches deep, and a slanted 1-inch side hole about 3 inches below the top connecting to the bottom of the first hole. For larger stumps, drill multiple sets of holes (1–2 feet: up to 3 sets; 2–3 feet: up to 7 sets). Pour about 1/4 lb. of Southern Ag Stump Remover in each hole. 
• Step 2: Fill each hole with water. Allow the product to work for at least 6 weeks, soaking the stump occasionally if rainfall is infrequent.
• Step 3: After decomposition, manually remove the stump, or to burn, fill the holes with kerosene or fuel oil, let it absorb, then carefully ignite with a long torch while wearing safety glasses and following local fire regulations.
