Southern Ag Snail and Slug Bait, manufactured by Southern Ag, delivers fast, reliable protection for gardens and landscapes by forming a long-lasting barrier that targets snails and slugs at the source, using an easy, low-rate application with no watering needed to keep vegetables, citrus, and ornamentals safe and thriving.

Unlike sprays or messy homemade remedies, this product works by attracting snails and slugs to the bait, where they feed and are eliminated before they can damage your plants. Best of all, the pellets do not require watering in, which makes application quick and convenient.

Southern Ag Snail and Slug Bait is a simple, effective, and dependable solution for controlling destructive snails and slugs around vegetables, citrus, and ornamental plants. With a low use rate, easy application, and proven effectiveness even against Giant African Land Snail, this product is an excellent choice for gardeners who want reliable control and healthier, damage-free plants throughout the growing season.

Tools Needed

It can be applied directly from the bag or with a handheld spreader.

How to Use

  • Step 1: You will need to find the linear foot of the treatment area. To do this, use a tape measure or take steps along the edge of the garden or plants you want to protect, then add those lengths together. For example, if one side of your garden is 10 feet long and another side is 15 feet long, you have 25 linear feet total. For artichoke, apply 20 pellets of Southern Ag Snail and Slug Bait per linear foot. For berries, use 18 pellets per linear foot. For strawberries, citrus, tomatoes, or ornamental pellets, apply 20 pellets per linear foot.
  • Step 2: Start by setting the spreader to the lowest opening, then test it to see how fast the pellets flow; adjust gradually until pellets release evenly without dumping.
  • Step 3: Remove leaf litter, mulch, and other debris where snails and slugs can hide. Water the garden lightly before application; do not apply to dry soil. Spread a thin line of pellets around the edge of garden beds or individual plants, keeping at least one foot away from unlisted vegetable or fruit plants. Scatter pellets lightly; do not create piles that could attract pets. Do not water again for 48 hours after application.

Where to Use

Southern Ag Snail and Slug Bait can be used around listed vegetables, citrus, and ornamentals.

Applications to turf and dichondra are prohibited. Application is permitted only to non-turf areas (i.e., on soil or mulch) directly surrounding plants listed for use on the label.

When to Use

Apply any time of day, but evening applications are preferred.
