Southern Ag Lawnstar Granular Insecticide
Southern Ag Lawnstar Granular Insecticide is a ready-to-use granular insecticide that tackles above and below-ground pests in lawns and landscape areas.
04/20/26
Southern Ag Lawnstar Granular Insecticide, manufactured by Southern Agricultural Products, is a broad-spectrum, ready-to-use granular insecticide designed to control surface and subsurface pests in turfgrass and landscape areas.
This bifenthrin-based granule insecticide works by disrupting the nervous system of insects, causing paralysis and death. A single bag treats a large area, saving time and money. While effective against above-ground pests like billbugs and fleas it can also aid in ant control because it works on contact and continues to protect treated areas over time. As ants come into contact with the treated area, they pick up the insecticide and carry it back to the colony, helping to eliminate not just the foragers but the entire nest.
Southern Ag Lawnstar Granular Insecticide is a strong, reliable, easy-to-use granular insecticide that protects and saves outdoor spaces from nuisance pests, including those beneath the soil surface. With its dual action above and below ground, long-lasting bifenthrin formula, and easy-to-apply granules, it’s the perfect all-around solution for homeowners and professionals alike.
Tools Needed
A handheld spreader, rotary spreader, broadcast spreader, or push spreader will be required.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Southern Ag Lawnstar Granular Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For lawns and perimeter applications, apply 1.15 to 4.6 pounds of Southern Ag Lawnstar Granular Insecticide per 1,000 sq. ft. For fire ant mounds, use 1/2 cup of product on each mound. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Adjust your spreader setting, then load the proper amount of product.
- Step 3: Walk at a steady pace and apply in even, straight passes, slightly overlapping each row to ensure complete coverage. For more uniform results, consider applying half the product in one direction and the other half at a right angle to the first. For perimeter applications, apply to the ground area 5 to 10 feet wide around the structure. After application, irrigate with 0.5 inches of water.
Where to Use
Southern Ag Lawnstar Granular Insecticide can be used on lawns and in landscape areas and perimeters around residential, commercial, institutional, public, and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas, and athletic fields.
When to Use
Apply when pests are present on days when rainfall is not expected for 24 hours after application.
Safety Information
Southern Ag Lawnstar Granular Insecticide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product.
