Scion Insecticide, manufactured by FMC Technologies, is a powerful insecticide specially formulated with advanced technology to deliver superior pest control in residential, commercial, and agricultural areas for up to 90 days.

This UVX technology enhances the durability of the insecticide, allowing it to withstand environmental stressors like UV radiation, heat, and moisture. As a result, Scion Insecticide provides consistent and long-lasting control, even in harsh outdoor conditions.

Scion Insecticide delivers a rapid knockdown of pests upon contact, effectively reducing infestations in a short time. Its fast-acting formula is particularly beneficial for controlling highly active pests like ants, cockroaches, and more.

Tools Needed

It can be applied with a handheld pump sprayer or backpack sprayer.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Scion Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For ornamental pests, apply 2.6 to 4.4 fl. oz. of Scion Insecticide per 100 gallons of water. For lawn and turfgrass pests, use 3.0 to 6.1 ml. of product per 2 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For spot treatments in turf, apply 0.20 fl. oz. of product per 1 to 2.5 gallons of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add the measured amount of product, then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake the tank until the solution is well-mixed.
  • Step 3: To treat ornamentals and turf, spray the top and bottom of plant leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Delay watering or mowing for 12 to 24 hours to control surface-feeding insect pests. This can be ignored if you are trying to control thatch inhabiting pests, which in case you can lightly water the treated area after application with 1/2 inch of irrigation.

Where to Use

Scion Insecticide can be used on and around buildings and structures for the control of listed pests, including on lawns, ornamental trees and shrubs, around residential, institutional, public, commercial, agricultural and industrial buildings; parks, recreational areas and athletic fields; and livestock/poultry housing and pet kennels.

Do not apply to pasture or cropland.

When to Use

Apply when pest activity is first witnessed or during an active infestation on days when rainfall is not predicted within the next 24 hours of application.

Safety Information

Scion Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not allow animals and people access to treated areas until the spray deposit has dried.

Special Considerations

Do not use water based sprays of Scion Insecticide in conduits, motor housings, junction boxes, switch boxes, or other electrical equipment because of possible shock hazard.

While phytotoxicity testing has been carried out on a wide range of ornamental plants under various environmental conditions and no phytotoxicity has been observed, certain cultivars may be sensitive to the final spray solution. It is advised to pre-spray a selection of ornamental plants and observe them for 7-10 days prior to treating large areas if local use experience is unavailable.
