Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide, manufactured by quali-pro, is a selective post-emergent herbicide that is safe to use on various types of turf grasses to kill a variety of hard-to-control broad-leaf and grassy weeds like crabgrass, even in its mature stages. Once applied, this superior systemic herbicide controls grasses and weeds from one month to 90 days.

It is a dry flowable powder that readily mixes with water to formulate a solution that is applied through sprayers to treat lawns and turfs. The solution is soaked into the foliage and transferred throughout the weed. Within a few days the weeds will begin a process called chlorosis where the weed curls up and change colors from green to white, then turn a red color and die.

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide is an efficient weed killer that offers a great application and seeding flexibility, making it ideal for seeding and overseeding before or after application on labeled weeds.

Tools Needed

To apply Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide, a pump sprayer, a backpack sprayer or a professional skid sprayer is needed.

How to Use

Backpack sprayer application of Quinclorac 75 DF

  • Step 1: Do not now mow 2 days before or after applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide. Determine how much Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide you will need to mix by first calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the areas length and width in feet and then multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). For spot applications, use 0.367 oz. of Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide in a gallon of water to treat 1,000 sq. ft. It is not recommended to apply more than 2 pounds of Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide per acre per year, which equals 0.73 ounces per 1,000 square feet per year.
  • Step 2: When using a pump sprayer or backpack sprayer, add half of the amount of water needed to the spray tank. Add the correct amount of Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide based on your calculations to the half-filled spray tank and then close the spray tank and mix the product with the water until well blended. Add the remaining amount of water needed and mix again. During applications, periodically mix the Quinclorac 75 SF solution to make sure it does not settle.
  • Step 4: Spray the top and bottom of weeds until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Wait until 2 or 7 days have passed after applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide before irrigating treated turfgrass with 1/2 inches of water.

Where to Use

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide can be used on listed broadleaf and grass weeds in established turfgrasses growing on grounds or lawns around residential and commercial establishments, multi-family dwellings, military and other institutions, parks, airports, roadsides, schools, picnic grounds, athletic fields, houses of worship, cemeteries, golf courses (except collars or greens), and sod farms (except Arizona).

Do not apply this product to Bahiagrass, carpetgrass, St. Augustinegrass, Centipedegrass, dichondra, or lawns or turf where desirable clovers are present.

When to Use

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide can be applied when targeted weeds on labeled approved areas have already started to grow as the product has to come in contact with the weeds to kill it.

When more than 4 weeks have passed you can apply this product after seeding emergence of Kentucky bluegrass, creeping bentgrass, fine fescue blends, and perennial ryegrass.

Do not apply this product to fine fescue unless it is part of a seed blend.

Safety Information

Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Wait until 24 hours have passed after application before allowing children and pets to enter treated areas.

Special Considerations

It is recommended to use a surfactant when applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide. The best surfactant we recommend to mix Quinclorac 75 DF with is Alligare 90 Wetting Agent.

Quinclorac 75df
Bought Quinclorac 75 df. The product worked great against wild violets. Our landscaper friend told us to apply another dose of quinclorac 14 days after the first spraying. That was good advice.

Worked Great!
Worked great, I was over run with crabgrass this year after a year or two of neglect. I have one acre and one application of this killed it all! I reseeded and next year will be using a pre-emergent.

Nothing
I used this according to directions and after watching YouTube videos garbed up in face shield, long sleeves, gloves. Sprayed in the heat of the day and absolutely nothing, then 2 months later I did it again and again nothing. This product is way too expensive for no results, not even regular weeds were affected.

  1. Q:My yard is mainly Bermuda with a small amount of St Augustine creeping in. Can this be used to kill SA in my yard?
    5/8/24
A:Bermudagrass is highly tolerant to Quinclorac 75 DF, but will not fully control St. Augustinegrass (it may be harmed with this product). Since this product may cause yellowing of Bermudagrass we recommend waiting to make applications until this turf is fully established and adding a chelated iron or sprayable nitrogen fertilizer to reduce this discoloration.

  4. Q:I have 2 acres, no sprinkler system but I am pretty good at keeping it watered. Crab grass and weeds are taking over so I would like to spray, I have a 20 gallon sprayer. It’s about 95 here in Oklahoma. Is it okay to spray this time of year in this heat if I spray in the pm when it is cooler. Also I have chickens. With they be okay after 24/48 hours?
    8/31/23
A:Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide (Crabgrass Killer) will eliminate crabgrass in certain turf types. To prevent leaf burn and turfgrass damage, do not apply this product when relative humidity and temperatures are high. You can apply in the afternoon as long as its not very hot. Keep chickens off of the treated areas for at least 24 hours or until the spray has dried.

  9. Q:What time of year should Quinclorac be used on a lawn?
    9/20/22
A:Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide (Crabgrass Killer) can be applied any time of the year as long as the turfgrass is not under stress from drought. Best results are obtained if weeds are not under stress from lack of water, excessive water, low fertility, mowing shock, excessive hot or cold temperatures, or injury from other herbicide applications. Do not mow lawns 2 days before or after applying this product. This practice will maximize weed control and minimize potential turf injury. Leave clippings from the first 3 mowings on the treated area.
