Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide (Crabgrass Killer)
Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide (Crabgrass Killer)
Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide is a professional post-emergent herbicide that eliminates various broadleaf and grassy weeds in cool and warm-seasoned turf within commercial and residential golf courses, sports fields, and sod farms. Measuring cup included.
Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide, manufactured by Quali-pro, is a selective post-emergent herbicide that is safe to use on various types of turf grasses to kill a variety of hard-to-control broad-leaf and grassy weeds like crabgrass, even in its mature stages. Once applied, this superior systemic herbicide controls grasses and weeds from one month to 90 days.
It is a dry, flowable powder that readily mixes with water to formulate a solution applied through sprayers to treat lawns and turf. The solution is soaked into the foliage and transferred throughout the weed. Within a few days, the weeds begin a process called chlorosis, where the weed curls up and changes colors from green to white, then turns red and dies.
Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide is an efficient weed killer with excellent application and seeding flexibility. It is ideal for seeding and overseeding before or after application on labeled weeds.
Tools Needed
You will need a pump sprayer, a backpack sprayer, or a professional skid sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Do not now mow 2 days before or after applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide. Determine how much you will need to mix by first calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the area's length and width in feet and then multiply the two values (length X width = square footage). For spot applications, use 0.367 oz. of Quinclorac 75 DF in a gallon of water to treat 1,000 sq. ft. Applying more than 2 pounds of per acre per year is not recommended, which equals 0.73 ounces per 1,000 square feet per year.
- Step 2: Add half the water to the spray tank. Add the correct amount of Quinclorac 75 DF based on your calculations to the half-filled spray tank, close the spray tank, and mix the product with the water until it is well blended. Fill your tank the rest of the way with water and mix again. During applications, periodically mix the Quinclorac 75 DF solution to ensure it does not settle.
- Step 4: Spray the top and bottom of weeds until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Wait until 2 to 7 days after applying before irrigating treated turfgrass.
Where to Use
Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide can be used on listed broadleaf and grass weeds in established turfgrasses growing on grounds or lawns around residential and commercial establishments, multi-family dwellings, military and other institutions, parks, airports, roadsides, schools, picnic grounds, athletic fields, houses of worship, cemeteries, golf courses (except collars or greens), and sod farms (except Arizona).
Do not apply this product to Bahiagrass, carpetgrass, St. Augustinegrass, Centipedegrass, dichondra, or lawns or turf where desirable clovers are present.
When to Use
Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide can be applied when targeted weeds in labeled approved areas have already started to grow, as the product has to come in contact with the weeds to kill it.
After more than 4 weeks, you can apply this product after seeding the emergence of Kentucky bluegrass, creeping bentgrass, fine fescue blends, and perennial ryegrass.
Do not apply this product to fine fescue unless it is part of a seed blend.
Safety Information
Quinclorac 75 DF is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Wait until 24 hours after application before allowing children and pets to enter treated areas.
Special Considerations
A surfactant should be used when applying Quinclorac 75 DF Herbicide for increased efficacy. We recommend mixing with Nanotek Surfactant.

Q:How many days after applying Quinclorac can I overseed in the fall?8/13/24A:This will depend on what you are planting, as it varies on the label. For example, you cannot plant eggplant or tobacco for 12 months on fields treated with Quinclorac 75 DF. Foliage such as tomatoes or carrots cannot be planted for 24 months after application. For specific turf types, it would be best to refer to page 11 on the label, as some turf species can or cannot be overseeded.

Q:My yard is mainly Bermuda with a small amount of St Augustine creeping in. Can this be used to kill SA in my yard?5/8/24A:Bermudagrass is highly tolerant to Quinclorac 75 DF, but will not fully control St. Augustinegrass (it may be harmed with this product). Since this product may cause yellowing of Bermudagrass we recommend waiting to make applications until this turf is fully established and adding a chelated iron or sprayable nitrogen fertilizer to reduce this discoloration.
