Pennington Lawn Starter Fertilizer 18-24-6
Pennington Lawn Starter Fertilizer 18-24-6 is the ultimate lawn booster for seeding, sodding, or reseeding, fueling rapid root growth, vibrant green color, and up to 4 months of continuous feeding for a lawn that stands out.
04/12/26
Pennington Lawn Starter Fertilizer 18-24-6, manufactured by Pennington, is a purpose-built lawn starter fertilizer designed specifically to support new grass at its most critical stage.
Unlike standard lawn fertilizers that focus heavily on nitrogen, starter fertilizers emphasize phosphorus, which is essential for young grass roots. Without strong roots, even the greenest grass won’t last. This formula also includes essential micronutrients, giving new grass everything it needs to develop into a dense, healthy lawn.
Pennington Lawn Starter Fertilizer 18-24-6 is an excellent granular fertilizer for anyone establishing a new lawn or repairing existing turf. With its high-phosphorus formula designed to promote strong root development, balanced nitrogen for early greening, potassium for stress tolerance, and essential micronutrients for complete nutrition, it gives new grass everything it needs to establish quickly and grow vigorously. By providing both immediate results and continuous feeding for up to four months, this starter fertilizer sets the foundation for a thicker, healthier, more resilient lawn.
Tools Needed
You will need a push spreader or broadcast spreader.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Pennington Lawn Starter Fertilizer 18-24-6 to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For new lawns, Pennington Lawn Starter Fertilizer 18-24-6 should be broadcast uniformly over the soil surface using one bag per 12,000 square feet of lawn area. When reseeding or sodding, apply at one bag per 12,000 square feet and water thoroughly.
- Step 2: Adjust the spreader to the proper setting, then load the proper amount of granules.
- Step 3: For best results, apply in a circular path starting on the outside and working toward the center overlapping slightly to insure complete coverage when using broadcast spreaders. For drop spreaders, apply 2 strips along each end. Then apply along the length of the lawn, overlapping slightly and shutting off the spreader before each turn at the edge of the border strips.

Pennington Lawn Starter Fertilizer 18-24-6 is only for new lawns.
