Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M)
Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M)
Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M), manufactured by ICL Specialty Fertilizer, is a dependable granular fertilizer formulated with a 21-4-8 npk ratio for increased general outdoor production of nursery stock, foliage, and in landscapes for up to 12-14 months.
Contains a unique osmocote resin coated npk blended with poly-s, step hi-mag micronutrients to deliver consistent and long-term nutrition regardless of climate or varying temperatures.
Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M) special dual-coated formulation reduces nitrogen leeching and also decomposes with minimal environmental impacts no matter what rate it is applied.
Tools Needed
To apply Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M), you will need a handheld spreader or push spreader.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M) to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To find the cubic yard, measure the length, width, and depth of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together and then divide the total by 27 (length X width X depth = total / 27 = cubic yard). Depending on the plant container sizes and how many there are in the treatment area will vary in application rates so it would be best to refer to the product label. To treat 850 containers with a volume of 191 qt., use either 5, 6, or 8 grams of Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M) per cubic yard. For larger containers that are 10 gallons with a 17" diameter and a surface area of 1.4 sq. ft., apply either 133, 188, or 235 grams of product. For landscapes, apply 9.5 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Adjust the spreader to the calibration needed to deliver the proper amount of Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M). Load the spreader with the measured amount of product.
- Step 3: Apply Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M) to dry soil surfaces until it is evenly applied to the toy layer of soil. You may mix the product into the first few layers of soil. After treatment, lightly water the treated area to activate the granules.
Where to Use
Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M) can be applied as a topdress or at the base of the soil media of outside foliage such as mums, nursery stock, foliage, and in landscapes.
When to Use
Apply Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M) when soil temperatures are between 60-90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Safety Information
Osmocote Blend 21-4-8 (12-14M) is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying this product.
