Osmocote Blend 20-4-8 (8-9M) High Iron Fertilizer, manufactured by ICL Specialty Fertilizer, is a high quality fertilizer containing a 20-4-8 npk ratio for outdoor grown commercial nursery plants and landscapes.

As a multi-purpose granule fertilizer, this product contains resin-coated N-P-K blended with micronutrients and poly-s to slowly-release nutrients for up to 8-9 months on a wide variety of bark mix plants.

Osmocote Blend 20-4-8 (8-9M) High Iron Fertilizer provides superior growth of foliage with a strong push of nitrogen in the first few months of application and long-term feeding the rest of the period with its resin-coated granules even during cooler temperatures.

Tools Needed

Osmocote Blend 20-4-8 (8-9M) High Iron Fertilizer will need to be applied with either a handheld spreader or measuring spoon (not intended for cooking or food reuse purposes). We recommend a handheld spreader for landscapes.

How to Use

Spreading Granule Product

  • Step 1: Determine how much Osmocote Blend 20-4-8 (8-9M) High Iron Fertilizer to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Depending on the container size and how many containers there are in the area will determine nursery applications so it would be best to refer to the product label. To treat 850 common container sizes in a cubic yard, apply 3, 5, or 7 grams of Osmocote Blend 20-4-8 (8-9M) High Iron Fertilizer per cubic yard. For larger containers that measure 10 gallons with 17" diameter and have a surface area of 1.4 sq. ft., use either 102, 157, or 212 grams of product. For landscapes, use 10.0, 17.5, or 25.0 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.
  • Step 2: Calibrate your handheld spreader to deliver the proper amount of Osmocote Blend 20-4-8 (8-9M) High Iron Fertilizer. For individual treatment applications with a measuring spoon make sure to wear a pair of gloves.
  • Step 3: Sprinkle the Osmocote Blend 20-4-8 (8-9M) High Iron Fertilizer to the top layer of soil or mix it into the soil.

Osmocote Blend 20-4-8 (8-9M) High Iron Fertilizer may be used on the soil of outside container nurseries, foliage plants, and landscapes. It does well when used on a wide variety of plants that are grown in bark mixes. This product may also be used on landscape bed soils and in large outdoor containers.
