Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (5-6M), manufactured by ICL Specialty Fertilizer, is a long-term granular fertilizer that gives growing media in containers and newly planted flower beds the nutrients they need to thrive for up to 6 months.

Each 18-5-12 granule is blended with uncoated homogenous N-P-K prills and STEP Hi-Mag micronutrient granules, which helps to deliver consistent nutrition whether it is applied to the surface of foliage soil or mixed in.

Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (5-6M) meets all plants needs in a variety of climates as well as provide nitrogen for the draft that occurs in green bark.

To apply Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (5-6M), you will need either a handheld spreader or push spreader.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (5-6M) to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To find the cubic yard, measure the length, width, and depth of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together and then divide the total by 27 (length X width X depth = total / 27 = cubic yard). Depending on the plant container sizes and how many there are in the treatment area will vary in application rates so it would be best to refer to the product label. To treat 850 common 1 quart container sizes, apply 2, 5, or 6 grams of Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (5-6M) per cubic yard. For larger containers that are 10 gallons with a 17" diameter and a surface area of 1.4 sq. ft., use 71, 133, or 173 grams of product. For landscape applications, apply 11.0 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.
• Step 2: Calibrate the spreader to deliver the proper ratio of Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (5-6M). Once calibrated, load the spreader with the needed amount of product.
• Step 3: Spread the Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (5-6M) to the top layer of soil until evenly coated or mix the product into the first few layers of soil. After application, lightly water treated areas, but not to the point of runoff.

Where to Use

Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (5-6M) can be applied to the soil of container grown nursery plants, landscape containers, flower beds, and production nurseries.

This product cannot be used in greenhouses.

When to Use

For best results, apply Osmocote Blend 18-5-12 (5-6M) when flower beds and containers are newly planted. Established foliage may be treated as well.
