Metcel VMF Herbicide
Metcel VMF Herbicide
Metcel VMF Herbicide is manufactured by Agsurf Corporation and is a pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide meant for controlling annual grasses and weeds on commercial and public properties. Metcel VMF Herbicide contains the active ingredient metsulfuron methyl and can work quickly to control weeds and woody plants in many different non-crop areas.
Tools Needed:
Metcel VMF Herbicide can be applied either by ground or aerial application as a spray meant for large volume applications. You can apply using a boom sprayer or a pesticide spray rig.
How to Use:
- Step 1: Determine how much Metcel VMF Herbicide you will need for your application by first calculating the acreage of the area you wish to treat. To do this, first measure the length and width of the area and multiply the two values to get the square footage (length x width = square footage). Once you have the square footage, divide by 43,560 to get the acreage. The application rate for Metcel VMF Herbicide varies depending on the application site and the weed you want controlled. Established grasses, apply 1 oz. of Metcel VMF Herbicide per 100 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the label for specific application rates.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer halfway with water. Measure the required amount of Metcel VMF Herbicide based on your calculations and target weed and add it to the sprayer. Fill your sprayer with the rest of the water and thoroughly agitate it and you’re ready to apply.
- Step 3: Apply the Metcel VMF Herbicide mixture over the desired area, spraying to the point of wetting the entire surface of the target weeds. Follow label instructions regarding your application method and what plants are being applied too. Applications can vary depending on these factors so it is important to read the label beforehand to understand how to properly apply the product on your selected application site.
- Step 4: Reapply as needed, following label instructions regarding your application type.
Where to Use:
Metcel VMF Herbicide can be used for the control of annual and perennial weeds and unwanted woody plants on private, public and military lands, on rights-of-way, industrial sites, non-crop areas, ditchbanks of dry drainage ditches, certain types of unimproved turf grass, and conifer and hardwood plantations, including grazed areas on these sites. .
When to Use:
For best results apply Metcel VMF Herbicide when weeds are young and actively growwing. For control of perennial weeds, make applications at the bud/bloom stage or while the target weeds are in the fall rosette stage.
Safety Information:
Metcel VMF Herbicide is safe to use when applied according to label directions. It is important to always wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) whenever you handle, measure and mix, and apply the product. It is also important to observe proper drift control techniques to protect non-target areas from exposure. This product should not be allowed to run off into waterways or areas like ponds or lakes as it is extremely toxic to fish and aquatic life.
Special Considerations:
Some plants may be sensitive to the active ingredient of Metcel VMF. Carefully read the label regarding the plants in the area, and do not apply if the plants are still young and haven't established completely in the area. This time frame can vary depending on the type of plant so read the label for information regarding your plant.
