Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weedar, manufactured by Monterey, offers an easy way to prevent broadleaf and grassy weeds within residental sites like flower and vegetable gardens, and shrubs for up to 5 months.
This trifluralin based pre-emergent herbicide controls undesirable weeds like annual bluegrass, crabgrass, and kochia as they germinate resulting in more beautiful bloomage and growth of desired plants.
Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weedar is a long-lasting pre-emergent herbicide concentrate that maintains a weed-free garden and other areas with its dependable formula.
Tools Needed
A handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or hose-end sprayer may be used.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weedar to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Mix 3 fl. oz. of Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weedar in 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Start with a clean spray tank. Fill sprayer 1/2 full with clean water, then add the proper amount of product. Finish filling sprayer with water and shake occasionally to keep solution mixed.
- Step 3: Spray solution directly onto soil. Follow application within 24 hours with 1/2 inch rain or its equivalent in sprinkler irrigation or poor weed control will result.
Where to Use
This pre-emergent concentrate can be used in ornamental trees, ornamental woody shrubs, ornamental groundcovers, roses, established flowers and vegetable gardens.
When to Use
Apply before weeds appear on days when rainfall or regular sprinkler irrigation is expected to occur within 24 hours of application.
Safety Information
Monterey Vegetable & Ornamental Weedar is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep all persons, children, and pets out of treated area until sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
Control over certain resistant weeds such as Cocklebur, Velvetleaf, Jimsonweed, Ragweed, Venice Mallow and Nutgrass will not occur.
