Monterey Black Pond Dye, manufactured by Monterey, is a superior, natural-looking black pond dye concentrate that results in a deep, reflective black shade in ponds, lakes, and lagoons. 

Unlike other traditional pond dyes, this product provides a subtle, natural look, turning treated water sites into visually striking water features. Reduces sunlight penetration, which in turn helps prevent unwanted algae and aquatic weed growth without harming fish.

This pond dye comes ready to use, and no additional application tools are necessary. 

How to Use

• Step 1: Before applying the Monterey Black Pond Dye, you will need to measure the surface acre and depth of the aquatic site. To do this, calculate the surface area by measuring (in feet) the surface length and the width and then dividing by 43,560 to get the surface acreage. Apply at the rate of 1 quart of Monterey Black Pond Dye per 1 surface acre of water 4-6 feet deep.
• Step 2: While wearing gloves, pour the product from the container around the water body edge at different points. Once the dye has been applied and has had time to disperse fully, observe the water to ensure the color intensity meets your expectations. If the color is too light, you can add more dye until the desired depth of color is achieved.

Special Considerations

This product will not disrupt fishing, swimming or irrigation once product has dispersed. However, do not swim, fish, or irrigate from ponds treated with Monterey Black Pond Dye until the product has thoroughly dispersed.
