Mistaway's Wind Sensor is a great optional addition to your mosquito misting system. The wind sensor helps to prevent insecticide waste and minimizes misting drift off your property. The wind sensor works by keeping track of wind speed. If it happens to be too windy for more than five minutes, a scheduled misting session will be cancelled until the next programmed mist when wind speed conditions are less. Installing the Wind Sensor is a snap and so is programming it.
Tools Needed
To install the MistAway Wind Sensor you will need a flat tip screwdriver. You will need a mast to mount the wind sensor; a 3/4" PVC pipe is recommended
How to Use
- Step 1: Mount the wind sensor in an appropriate location according to MistAway's supplied installation instructions.
- Step 2: Disconnect power to the MistAway unit and undo the the plastic cover from the back wall and repositition the shroud and controller with the help of a Phillips screwdriver.
- Step 3: Attach the telephone style male connector from the wind sensor to the female jack on the back of the controller box and then reassemble the controller and the unit back to normal. .
- Step 4: Power on the system and navigate to setup to setup the Wind sensor and enter the desired wind speed trigger.
Where to Use
The MistAway Wind Sensor is to be placed in an open area near the mosquito misting system unit where it can pick up wind easily.
When to Use
Use MistAway Wind Sensor when you are experiencing problems with mist drifting or it being windy at times during misting sessions.
