Micromite 2L Insecticide
Micromite 2L Insecticide
Micromite 2L Insecticide is a professional insect growth regulator that reduces nymphs and prevents insects eggs from hatching to reduce potential crop damages.
*This product is a restricted use pesticide and must have a certified applicator license to be able to purchase.
Micromite 2L Insecticide, manufactured by United Phosphorous, is an effective insect growth regulator that provides greater control of damaging crop insects without harming desired beneficial pests and pollinators.
Formulated for year-round use with its powerful active ingredient diflubenzuron 22%, which prevents the development of pests exoskeletons. Since it can be used at any time of the year and offers unmatched tank-mixing with various adulticides, it results in fast and efficient control at critical stages of pests life cycles.
Micromite 2L Insecticide is a effective broad-spectrum insect growth regulator that protects non-crop areas, sod farm turf, and other agricultural field crops from damaging insects before they become adults.
Tools Needed
To apply Micromite 2L Insecticide, you will need to use a spray rig, aerial application equipment, or chemigation system.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Micromite 2L Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat alfalfa and alfalfa grown for seeds, use 1-2 fl. oz. of Micromite 2L Insecticide per 5-15 gallons of water per acre. Refer the label for specific application rates.
- Step 2: To ensure thorough mixing of Micromite 2L Insecticide, you will first need to fill the mix tank with half the amount of required water. Add in the correct amount of product then fill in with the remaining half of water. Stir the tank contents until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray all leaf surfaces, including the underneath with Micromite 2L Insecticide, but not to the point of runoff. Reapply as instructed on the label for the specific crop you are treating.
Where to Use
Micromite 2L Insecticide can be used on alfalfa; barley; carrot (not grown for seed); oats; triticale; wheat; citrus, crop group 10-10; cottonseed, subgroup 20C; grassland; non-crop areas; leafy brassica, subgroup 5B (including turnip greens); livestock/poultry premises; peach, subgroup 12- 12B; plum, subgroup 12-12C; peanuts; pears; peppers/eggplant, subgroup 8-10B; rice; soybeans; tree nuts, crop group 14-12; and turfgrass (for use in sod farms only).
When to Use
Apply Micromite 2L Insecticide any time of the year when insects are still in their nymphal stages and when you have seen signs of egg laying. This product will not control pests that have reached adulthood, so you will want to make applications prior to this which usually is the early half of each season.
Do not make applications when rainfall is forecasted to occur within 48 hours of application.
Safety Information
Micromite 2L Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets away from treated areas for 24 hours after application.
Special Considerations
If a large influx from neighboring fields should occur, the time to reduce that population may not be short enough to minimize extensive foliage feeding; use a tank mix with a knockdown insecticide under these conditions.
