Manuscript Herbicide
Manuscript Herbicide is a powerful selective herbicide that controls mature, hard-to-control weeds helping to keep warm-seasoned turf more resilient and lush.
04/02/26
Manuscript Herbicide, manufactured by Syngenta, is an effective systemic, post-emergent herbicide that eliminates mature grassy weeds in bermudagrass, zoysiagrass and St. Augustinegrass turf.
This innovative emulsifiable concentrate contains the active ingredient pinoxaden 5.05%, which targets specific grassy weeds without harming desirable warm-seasoned turf. The formulation includes a proprietary safener that enhances the metabolism of pinoxaden in desirable turfgrass, improving weed control performance and turf safety.
Manuscript Herbicide is a versatile and effective solution for managing mature grassy weeds in various turfgrass settings. Its unique active ingredient, combined with a built-in safener, ensures both efficacy and comprehensive weed management for residential and commercial sites.
Tools Needed
It can be applied with a handheld pump sprayer, hose-end sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Manuscript Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For broadcast applications, use 0.44 fl. oz. of Manuscript Herbicide per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. To make a spot treatment, mix 9.6 fl. oz. of product 20 gallons of water per acre and add the appropriate spray adjuvant. Do not treat more than 10,000 square feet per acre for spot treatments. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and agitate the solution until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray weeds until wet, but avoid run-off of spray solution and over-application. Spot treatments are likely to cause yellowing and growth regulatory effects to the turfgrass.
Where to Use
Manuscript Herbicide may be applied to bermudagrass and zoysiagrass on golf courses, sod farms, sport fields, residential properties (including home lawns) and other non-residential turf areas (such as airports, cemeteries, commercial buildings, and similar sites).
This product may be applied to St. Augustinegrass grown on sod farms only.
When to Use
Apply when weeds are present and during the active growth periods of turfgrass, including the heat of summer.
It is rainfast after 1 hour of application, so avoid applications if rainfall is expected sooner after treatment.
Safety Information
Manuscript Herbicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
