Finale XL F-VM Herbicide
Finale XL F-VM Herbicide is a fast-acting, non-selective herbicide for industrial sites, roadsides, and non-crop areas, delivering quick, visible results and long-lasting vegetation control in the toughest environments.
04/19/26
Finale XL F-VM Herbicide, manufactured by BASF, is an effective post-emergent herbicide that delivers faster knockdown of tough annual and perennial weeds with precise, contact-only control, making it an ideal glyphosate alternative for targeted treatments and rapid, effective vegetation management.
At the heart of this herbicide is glufosinate-ammonium, a contact herbicide that kills weeds quickly by inhibiting glutamine synthetase, leading to rapid plant cell death. The formula is built for powerful knockdown of both grasses and broadleaf weeds, including some of the most resistant and hard-to-kill species. With a rainfast period of 30 minutes to 4 hours, you won’t lose your investment to a sudden downpour. That’s peace of mind every applicator needs.
Finale XL F-VM Herbicide is a superior contact, non-selective herbicide that tackles a broad-spectrum of broadleaf weeds, brushes, trees, and vines with ease. Whether it’s a simple maintenance job or a full-blown bareground application, this herbicide rises to the challenge.
Tools Needed
You will need a backpack sprayer, hydraulic sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, aircraft, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Finale XL F-VM Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). A general spot application will use 1.25 to 1.6 fl. oz. of Finale XL F-VM Herbicide per 1 gallon of water. To control brush as a spot treatment, use 0.5 to 1.6 fl. oz. of product per 1 gallon of water. To control volunteer conifer as a spot treatment, mix 1.25 fl. oz. of product with 1 gallon of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour in the remaining half of the water into the tank. Close the lid and shake well.
- Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Do not make more than 3 spot treatments in the same spot per 1,000 sq. ft. per year.
Where to Use
Finale XL F-VM Herbicide can be used in industrial landscaping, tree production, and vegetation management sites.
When to Use
Apply when weeds are actively growing. Although it’s rainfast in 4 hours, it's still best to apply on a dry day when rain isn't immediately forecasted.
