At its core, this product is a pre-emergent herbicide formulated with the active ingredient package branded as Gallery (isoxaben), designed to stop broadleaf weeds before they sprout. Because it’s a pre-emergent, it forms a barrier in the top soil layer that prevents vulnerable weed seedlings (like chickweed, clover, henbit, spurge, woodsorrel and dandelion seedings) from establishing. It also offers suppression of some annual grasses such as crabgrass and ryegrass.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). Apply 4.6 to 5.7 lbs. of Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery per 1000 sq. ft. Do not apply more than 19 lbs. of product per 1000 sq. ft.
• Step 2: Adjust the spreader to the proper setting, then load the correct amount of granules. 
• Step 3: Apply the product evenly across the target area, avoiding skips or overlaps to prevent poor weed control or possible plant injury; for best coverage, spread half the amount in one direction and the other half at right angles. If using a drop-type spreader, install a splash board beneath the release point to ensure smooth, uniform granule distribution. After application, water the treated area with 0.5 inch or more of irrigation or rainfall to activate the product. 

Where to Use

Ferti-Lome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery can be used on home lawns (cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turf) and landscape ornamentals. 

Do not apply to Dichondra. 

When to Use

Apply in late summer to early fall, in early spring, or anytime prior to germination of target weeds.

Treat only when turf is well-established. 

Apply to newly seeded turfgrass (including overseeded turfgrass) only after seedlings are established (three leaf stage and side shoots are visible) and well rooted.

Do not overseed established turfgrass sooner than 60 days following an application.
