Dylox 420SL Insecticide
12/11/25
Dylox 420 SL Insecticide, manufactured by Bayer, is a broad-spectrum insecticide that targets turf insects and delivers fast acting grub control. Dylox 420 SL Insecticide treats surface feeding insects on lawns, landscape and recreational turf, such as golf courses.
This product has a dual action formula, working via contact and ingestion. Best of all will not damage landscape flowers, trees and shrubs when sprayed upon to control the pests that are feeding on those plants.
Dylox 420 SL Insecticide is known to be the best product available for third instar grubs because it works later in the season and provides a longer effective application window than other competitors
Tools Needed
To use Dylox 420SL Insecticide you will need either a hose end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig. For smaller sized residential treatments, we recommend a handheld 1-gallon pump sprayer or a 4-gallon backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Dylox 420SL Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, divide the square footage by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Depending on the pest, apply 4.6 to 6.9 fl. oz. of Dylox 420SL Insecticide per 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water then add the proper amount of product. Fill the tank with the rest of the way with water. Close the tank lid and shake until the solution is well-mixed.
- Step 3: Completely cover foliage to the point of wet, but not runoff. If spraying a tree, treat stems and trunks up to 10 feet from the ground. You can use a coarse spray, drench, or broadcast. For applications to turf, limit the number of applications to 3 per calendar year with minimum re-treatment intervals of 7 days.
Where to Use
Dylox 420SL Insecticide can only be used outdoors to landscape turf and to soil at the bases of landscape flowers, shrubs, and trees.
For turf use on golf courses and on recreational and residential turf areas only.
When to Use
Use this product upon recognizing a pest infestation around your yard or if you notice turf or tree damage. This is typically around the spring and summer months when pest activity is very high.
