DuraFlex ZC Controlled Release Insecticide
DuraFlex ZC is a unique combination of microencapsulated insecticides that controls and prevents various pests, such as fleas, cockroaches, flying insects, and other hard-to-control pests. This fast-acting insecticide controls adulticide and the early nymph stage of insects within a short time frame.
04/01/26
DuraFlex ZC, manufactured by CSI, is an excellent choice for controlling many species of common household and hard-to-kill pests, such as fleas, flies, mosquitos, and other insects, on the inside and outside of your home or commercial building. This low-odor product contains a microencapsulated solution that eliminates and prevents targeted insect populations from reproducing within your turf.
DuraFlex ZC is the first microencapsulated insecticide that contains three modes of action: bifenthrin 3.95%, novaluron 1.3%, and pyriproxyfen 1.3% that will break the life cycle of the pests by inhibiting their ability to grow and reproduce.
As a controlled-release product, DuraFlex ZC is formulated with thin and thick capsule walls, allowing immediate release within the application area to eliminate targeted insects quickly and for some of the product to release for weeks for long-lasting control slowly.
Tools Needed
You will need to use a backpack or a handheld sprayer. For small application areas, we recommend using a handheld 1-gallon sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much DuraFlex ZC you will need to apply by measuring the square footage of your treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width in feet of your application area and multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Depending on the targeted pest and application area, it can be mixed at 1 fl. oz. of DuraFlex ZC per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For specific rates, refer to the label. Applications to building foundations are restricted to a maximum height of 3 feet and within a band of 6-10 feet wide adjacent to the building's structure.
- Step 2: Based on your calculations, fill your selected sprayer halfway with the required amount of water, then add the appropriate measured amount of DuraFlex. Fill the sprayer with the remaining half of water, close the lid, and agitate the sprayer to evenly mix the solution. Do not allow the mixture to stand overnight. It cannot be applied by aircraft, handheld or truck-mounted cold aerosol ULV sprayers, or thermal fogging devices.
- Step 3: Apply a coarse, low-pressure spray to the application area and avoid a run-off. Treat the inside of your home or structure with spot applications as instructed by the product label and apply as a crack/crevice treatment or spot treatment on the outside of your building. Do not spray into the air; only spray towards specific application sites as permitted on the label. For inside applications, remove all food products and objects from the treatment area and do not replace them until the spray mixture is dry or until 24 hours have passed. For overhead applications, cover your floor with plastic sheeting or similar materials.
- Step 4: If insect activity continues after the first application, you may reapply 7 days later. However, if mosquito activity continues, do not reapply more than once every 14 days.

Keep children, livestock, and pets out of the treatment area until the spray mixture has dried or until 24 hours have passed.
Special Considerations
As a microencapsulated solution, DuraFlex can settle within the sprayer if not continually used. If 2 hours have passed since the last use, then you will need to agitate the sprayer to apply this product evenly.
DuraFlex ZC should not be applied to young or flowering plants. If it is applied to these foliage, the plants may become damaged or die.

| Keith's Pro Tip | "For best results and control of DuraFlex ZC application, inspect the area to be treated for any visible signs of cracks or holes. Fill the holes with an expandable foam or similar material to prevent leaks or run-off. Doing this increases the amount of product applied to the target area and avoids wasted materials." |
