Monterey Consan 20
Monterey Consan 20
Monterey Consan 20 (previously known as Consan Triple Action 20 by brandt), manufactured by Monterey, is a three-in-one product—a fungicide, disinfectant, and deodorizer that can be used indoors and outdoors to treat diseases like brown patch, black spot and algae while also being an excellent cleaning product.
This highly concentrated lawn, garden, and household fungicide/aglaecide product greatly increases the rate of control over a broad-spectrum of diseases when used as a fungicide, and odor causing bacteria and algae on hard non-porous surfaces at rates as low as 1.5 fl. oz. per 5 gallons of water. Additionally, this all-in-one product controls mosquitoes where they breed.
Monterey Consan 20 highly concentrated formula allows any professional or homeowner to use this fungicide, disinfectant, and deodorizer in a wide range of situations such as getting rid of mosquito eggs, mosquito larvae, and pupal stages of this pest in labeled water sites.
Tools Needed
To use Monterey Consan 20, you will need either a hose-end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig. For general applications, we recommend a handheld pump sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Monterey Consan 20 to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet and multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For general disinfection, dilute 1.5 fl. oz. of Monterey Consan 20 in 5 gallons of water. For fungicidal purposes, dilute 2 fl. oz. of this product in 5 gallons of water. For lawn treatment, use 2 tablespoons of this product per gallon of water per 50 square feet (5 ft. X 10 ft.) of lawn. Do not exceed treatment of 10 acres (2000 gallons) with retreatment at 10 day intervals not to exceed 6 treatments per year. To control mosquitoes in small water areas, use 1 gallon of product per treatment area. Do not exceed 10 applications at a minimum of 10-day intervals per year.
- Step 2: After measuring the amount of Monterey Consan 20 you need, you can create a solution. Add half of the water you need to your spray tank. Mix in the measured amount of Monterey Consan 20, then pour the remaining half of water into the tank. Close the sprayer tank lid and shake well until the product is thoroughly mixed.
- Step 3: When applying the mixed Monterey Consan 20, be sure the area is wet for at least 10 minutes for proper results. For an even coverage, use a fan spray setting. After spraying your area, let it air dry. For lawn treatment, you can repeat application every 10 to 14 days as needed.
Where to Use
Monterey Consan 20 Fungicide can be used outdoors on ornamental plants, lawns, and trees. In the case of diseased trees, the spot treatment of trees must be at least 100 feet from any pond, lake, stream, or river to prevent possible runoff of the product into the waterway.
As a disinfectant, you can use this product indoors in non-medical facilities, on hard, non-porous surfaces such as work areas or benches. Outdoors, it may be used to clean hard, non-porous surfaces such as pots, flats, flower buckets, cutting tools, greenhouse glass, houseplant and gardening containers and equipment, walkways, bird baths, fountains, water displays, decorative pools/ponds and standing water.
When to Use
Use Monterey Consan 20 as a contact fungicide during the growing season or whenever you have noticed and identified a disease on your plants. You can also use it any time as a disinfectant indoors and outdoors when people or animals are not present.
Treatment is required during the warm growing season and must be made when the lawn is dry or damp, but not during wet rainy weather.
Only out-of-season, not-in-service, or inactive spas, hot tubs, swimming pools require treatment for mosquito control. Do not treat during the swimming season.
Safety Information
Monterey Consan 20 is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and animals out of treated areas until the spray has completely dried.
This product is toxic to fish; do not apply when fish are present.
Do not graze treated areas or feed clippings to livestock.
Special Considerations
Monterey Consan 20 is not intended to be used for broadcast mosquitocide applications but rather is limited to small residential ponds, decorative ponds, and similar areas. It will control mosquitoes where they breed such as in fountains, water displays, decorative pools, decorative ponds, sewage treatment systems, spas, hot tubs, swimming pools and standing water in old tires, empty tin cans, barrels, puddles, and water drains around buildings.
Spray from fountains treated with this product will not harm poolside plantings.

Q:i applied consan 20 to my st. augustine lawn to treat for fungis and it turned some areas yellow...what happened? is there a remedial action i should take or will the grass recover on its own? regards,9/21/22A:Monterey Consan 20 product label does state that not all varieties or strains of plants listed have been tested. Unintentional consequences such as crop injury or ineffectiveness may result because of certain environmental or growing conditions, manner of use or applications, and insect resistance. Therefore, before treating a large number of plants, spray a few plants and observe for plant damage and for performance prior to full-scale application. It would be best to cease applications, and speak directly with the manufacturer Monterey Lawn and Garden for more information. https://www.montereylawngarden.com/contact-us/
