Valar Plus Bifenthrin Granules
Valar Plus Bifenthrin Granules
Valar Plus is an easy to use, fast-acting bifenthrin granule insecticide that helps tame surface and subsurface insects within lawns and landscaping areas with an effective 2 to 3 month residual activity.
Valar Plus, manufactured by Solutions Pest and Lawn, is a powerful bifenthrin-based insecticide granule handy for DIYers and commercial applicators to control lawn and landscape pest within several days and for up to 3 months after treatment.
This bifenthrin granular formula kills with contact for season-long control against pests like imported fire ants, fleas, and pillbugs in outdoor areas. Pests exposed to the active ingredient bifenthrin 0.2% will become paralyzed, leading to death within 10 minutes or so.
This product does not deliver a quick knockdown, but offers dependable, long lasting control that keeps pests such as annual bluegrass weevils, millipedes, and ants from forming new colonies and preventing these pests from entering your home or other structure.
Valar Plus is an easy to apply bifenthrin granular insecticide which has no odor and is safe for children, pets, and non-target animals when applied according to label directions. Valar Plus compares to Talstar PL, Wisdom Granules, and Bifen L/P with the same active ingredient and label, but at a more economical price.
Tools Needed
To apply Valar Plus, you will need to use a handheld spreader, push spreader, or broadcast spreader. For spot treatments, we recommend using a handheld spreader.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Valar Plus to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Depending on the pest you are trying to control in lawns and for perimeter applications, use between 1.15 to 4.6 lbs. of Valar Plus per 1,000 sq. ft. or 50 to 200 lbs. of product per acre. For broadcast applications on industrial non-agricultural applications, use 2.3 to 4.6 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. For individual fire mound treatments, use 1/2 cup of product per mound then flood the mound with 1 to 2 gallons of water. For general lawn applications and perimeter pest control, use 2.3 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. For example, if your yard was 2,000 square feet, you would need 4.6 pounds of Valar Plus. Refer to the label for specific application rates.
- Step 2: Calibrate the spreader to the proper settings, best to refer to the label for precise spreader settings. Once calibrated, load the proper amount of Valar Plus into the spreader.
- Step 3: Valar Plus can be applied as a perimeter barrier directed in a five to ten foot band around your home or structure, or it can be generally broadcast over your entire yard including landscaped area. To apply, walk at an even pace once across the treatment area. Then again, in a separate perpendicular pass to achieve uniform coverage. To treat ant mounds, create a four-foot diameter circle around the mound.
- Step 4: Water the treated areas with up to 0.5 inches of water directly following application.
Where to Use
Valar Plus can be used on lawns in landscaped areas and perimeters around residential, institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas and athletic fields.
Use areas include but are not limited to: lawns and around flower gardens, flower beds, around/along perimeters & foundations of houses and other structures, around mulch beds, along fence lines, and around decks and decking.
When to Use
Valar Plus can be applied at the beginning or prior to pest activity at any point in the season as long as rainfall is not expected to occur within 24 hours after application. For best results or season prevention, apply in the fall or early spring.
