Bonide Systemic Insect Control Concentrate
Bonide Systemic Insect Control Concentrate is a long-lasting systemic insecticide that ensures rapid elimination of hard-to-kill outdoor insects on ornamentals.
03/12/26
Bonide Systemic Insect Control Concentrate, manufactured by Bonide, is an economical, long-lasting insecticide concentrate that protects at least 100 varieties of shrubs, flowers, shade trees, and other ornamentals from various pests.
It's systemic action allows the product to be absorbed by plants, circulating throughout the plant's tissue to protect against chewing and sucking insects like caterpillars, aphids, Japanese beetles, and more. The active ingredient, Acephate 9.4%, targets pests effectively by disrupting their nervous systems leading to paralysis then eventual death.
Bonide Systemic Insect Control Concentrate is an effective systemic insecticide offering complete pest control by reaching pests at the time of application and those that infest after treatment. Because of this systemic mode of action, there is less risk of it affecting non-target pests or washing off after application resulting in safer applications.
Tools Needed
It will need to be applied with a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or hose-end sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Before using Bonide Systemic Insect Control Concentrate, identify the pest species affecting your plants. To control aphids and grasshoppers, apply 2 Tbs (1 fl. oz.) of Bonide Systemic Insect Control Concentrate per gallon of water. For Japanese beetles and Elm leaf beetles, use 4 Tbs (2 fl. oz.) of product per gallon of water. For other listed insects, use 3 Tbs of product (1 1/2 fl. oz.) of product per gallon of water.
- Step 2: Add half the amount of water and the proper amount of product into the spray tank. Next, pour in the remaining half of the water and shake well until evenly mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the entire plant covering both sides of the foliage thoroughly. For hard-to-kill insects, such as flower thrips, gladiolus thrips, mealybugs, scales, two-spotted spider mites, and whiteflies, spray 2 to 3 times, waiting 7 to 10 days between each application. Repeat every 4 weeks for obscure root weevils. Reapply every 2-3 weeks for general pest control.
