How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Bonide Rose Shield Systemic Rose & Flower Care 8-12-4 Granules to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For roses, apply 2 oz. of Bonide Rose Shield Systemic Rose & Flower Care 8-12-4 Granules per plant. For shrubs, apply 4 oz. per foot of plant height. For flower beds, apply 4 oz. of product per 12 sq. ft. Do not apply more than 200 pounds per acre per year or 4.6 pounds per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: While wearing gloves, open the lid to the product and pour. If you decide to use a handheld spreader, you will need to calibrate it first, then pour in the proper amount of granules.
- Step 3: Apply the required amount of granules evenly on top of the soil, being careful not to damage the upper roots, incorporate thoroughly into the top soil layer (Wear gloves if done by hand), then water in thoroughly after incorporating into the soil. For flower beds, sprinkle granules evenly over the bed. For container plants, spread the required amount of product evenly over the potting soil around the base of plant foliage and water thoroughly. For the first 10 days do not water the container to the point that water overflows or leaks out the bottom of container.
Where to Use
Use this product on roses, shrubs, and plantings around homes and residential areas.
Do not apply to vegetable gardens.
When to Use
For new plants, apply when planting. For established plants, use before pest damage occurs or immediately when seen. Repeat applications every 8 weeks during the growing season.
