How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Bonide Fruit Tree & Plant Guard RTS to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For ornamentals, use 16 fl. oz. of Bonide Fruit Tree & Plant Guard RTS per 12,000 sq. ft. Do not exceed 2 fl. oz. of this product per 1,500 sq. ft. For eggplants, ground cherry, pepino, peppers, and tomatillo, apply 16 fl. oz. of product per 19,200 sq. ft. Do not exceed 1.25 fl. oz. f this product per 1,500 sq. ft. For all other listed vegetables, use 16 fl. oz. per 12,000 sq. ft. Do not exceed 2 fl. oz. of this product per 1,500 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific rates and restrictions. 
  • Step 2: Make sure the control knob is in “OFF” position, then connect to the garden hose. 
  • Step 3: Turn the water on at the faucet. When spraying low-growing plants and small shrubs, twist the control knob right, to the “FAN” position. When spraying taller trees, shrubs, and other plants, twist the control knob left to the “STREAM” position for extended reach and more uniform coverage. The product mixes automatically with the water as you spray. Apply spray to the leaves, fruit branches, trunk, and base of the tree for complete coverage (to the point of runoff).
  • Step 4: To stop spraying, turn the control knob lever to the “OFF” position. Turn off the water at the faucet and disconnect the sprayer from the garden hose.

Where to Use

Bonide Fruit Tree & Plant Guard RTS can be used on listed residential fruit, nut, and ornamental trees, shrubs, and flowers. 

When to Use

Choose a cool, calm period to apply the product, preferably early morning or evening, when trees will not be subjected to hot direct sunlight. When active disease spores are present (warm humid days), shorten the spray intervals to 7-10 days.

Do not apply if rain is expected before the product has a chance to dry on the leaf surfaces.
