Bonide Colorado Potato Beetle Beater Concentrate, manufactured by Bonide, is a low-resistance risk insecticide concentrate designed to tackle tough pest infestations in residential gardens, lawns, and ornamentals.

The active ingredient, spinosad, is derived from fermentation processes involving naturally occurring bacteria. This makes the product safer for beneficial insects, pollinators, and the environment compared to synthetic insecticides. However, pollinators such as bees are still at risk at least 3 hours following treatment.

Tools Needed

This product may be applied with a trigger sprayer, handheld, backpack, or hose-end sprayer.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Bonide Colorado Potato Beetle Beater Concentrate to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). In vegetable gardens, for best results, do not use more than 3 gallons of spray for 1000 sq. ft. of area. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
• Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until the solution is mixed.
• Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of the plant leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. 

Where to Use

Bonide Colorado Potato Beetle Beater Concentrate can be used in home lawns, ornamentals, gardens, fruit trees, nuts, grapes and home orchards.

When to Use

Apply when pest activity is first noticed on days when rainfall is not expected to occur within the next 24 hours of treatment.

For best results apply when weather is cool, 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, or in early morning or late evening to control ants.

Special Considerations

In the state of Georgia, do not apply this product to: broccoli raab, Chinese Cabbage (bok choy), collards, kale, mizuna, mustard greens, mustard spinach, and rape greens.
