Blue Lagoon SS, by Brandt, is a highly concentrated pond dye that adds beauty to ponds, lakes, fountains, lagoons, etc. coloring them a beautiful and natural looking blue color.
When applied at the recommended rates Blue Lagoon SS will not stain birds or fish and is harmless to humans as well as wildlife. It contains acid blue 9 which is also used as a food colorant.
Blue Lagoon SS is safe to use in waterbodies used for swimming, irrigation, and other recreational sports once the dye has been adequately dispersed. The concentrated blue dye also acts as a bird blocker so that birds will be unable to poach fish within the waterbody. Blue Lagoon SS pond dye is easy to use and safe for the environment.
Tools Needed
It is recommended that you use a container that can easily be used to pour the dye in the waterbody, such as a sprayer or bucket.
How to Use
- Step 1: Measure the size and volume of the body of water to determine how much Blue Lagoon SS you will need. Do this by calculating the surface area and depth, and then multiply them together to get the waterbody's volume.
- Step 2: Measure the appropriate amount of Blue Lagoon SS in a container to treat your pond. It is recommended to use 1 quart per surface acre at 4 to 6 feet of depth. However, you can use more if a deeper blue is desired.
- Step 3: Pour in the dye at intervals around the pond. The water's natural current will eventually disperse the dye.

When to Use
Use whenever a deep blue is desired. It is best if used before or at the start of the spring months to prevent algae and other aquatic weed growth.
