The stainless steel rods are blunted for safety, and wire spacing is 1.5″ on center wide enough to repel pigeons but tight enough to avoid collecting debris. Their flexible, UV-resistant polycarbonate base allows easy installation on curved or uneven areas, while the stainless steel rods with blunted tips provide effective, humane deterrence without harming birds. Tools Needed
For most applications, a strong outdoor adhesive like Bird Barrier Bond and a caulking gun will allow for quick, non-invasive installation. If you prefer a more permanent setup, a drill or screwdriver along with screws or anchors can be used to securely fasten the spikes to wood, metal, or concrete surfaces.
How to Use
- Step 1: Remove nests, droppings, and any debris. Clean with a bird-safe disinfectant and let it dry for proper bonding or screwing.
- Step 2: Sections are 1 foot long and easily snapped into smaller pieces. Bend to fit curved or angled surfaces as needed. Use adhesive, screws, or cable ties based on your mounting surface. Ensure no gaps where birds can land. Position strips so that spike tips extend slightly beyond the ledge edge. Butt them tightly together never overlap. For ledges with a back wall, maintain about 2″ between spike tips and the wall to prevent gaps.
- Step 3: Check monthly to ensure spikes remain intact and debris-free.
