Bird B Gone Envirospike Stainless Steel Bird Spikes, manufactured by Bird-B-Gone, is a humane and cost-effective stainless steel bird spike that creates a physical barrier to prevent pigeons, seagulls, and other larger birds from landing and roosting on various surfaces.
Unlike plastic spikes that can become brittle in the sun or crack in freezing weather, stainless steel spikes are built for decades of outdoor exposure. They won’t rust, discolor, or warp, meaning your investment lasts long term. Once installed, they work 24/7 with virtually no maintenance.
Bird B Gone Envirospike Stainless Steel Bird Spikes are high-quality stainless steel spikes that deliver durable, humane, and effective bird control for virtually any setting. They stand up to harsh weather, require no maintenance, and blend in better than you might expect.
These spikes are designed for maximum flexibility, capable of bending a full 360 degrees without snapping, making it perfect for curved surfaces such as lampposts, signage, and lettering; it can be easily secured using adhesive, zip ties, or hose clamps.
Tools Needed
For smooth or curved areas like lampposts and signs, a strong outdoor adhesive paired with nylon zip ties or hose clamps works best to hold the spikes securely in place. A caulking gun is useful if you're applying adhesive from a tube.
For flat, solid surfaces like wood or concrete, you may prefer to use a drill and screws or wall anchors for a more permanent installation. Measuring tape ensures accurate placement, while scissors or wire cutters help trim zip ties.
How to Use
- Step 1: Remove all debris including overhanging branches, leaves, nests, etc. Clean and disinfect the area using hospital grade disinfectant. Allow the area to dry before installation
- Step 2: For Concrete, Brick, Steel Attachement: Adhere bird spike strips using an outdoor construction-grade adhesive. Run a bead of adhesive down the underside of each bird spike strip. Press bird spike strip into place allowing the adhesive to mushroom-up for more e ective adhesion.
- Step 3: For Wood Attachment: Use wood screws to secure bird spike strips to wood surfaces. Following pre-drilled holes along the strip base, screw into the end of each bird spike strip tightly; place one wood screw at least every six inches along the strip base.
- Step 4: Tie Down Attachment: For pipes and other areas, secure bird spike strips with nylon ties by wrapping and securing the tie around the base of the bird spike strip.
- Step 5: To prevent birds from nesting behind the spike, leave no more than 1” gap between the wall and the bird spike strip. To prevent birds from sitting on the ledge, leave a minimum of 1/2” overhang between the tip of the bird spike and front/leading edge. For wide areas, multiple rows of bird spike strips may need to be installed. Install bird spike strips with 1” overlap.
