Altosid XRG
Altosid XRG
Altosid XRG, manufactured by Zoecon, is a mosquito larvacide that is formulated to keep larvae from developing into adult mosquitoes - including mosquitoes that may transmit West Nile Virus. This insect growth regulator infects the larvae and allows them to grow up to the adult stage (pupal stage) and then they will die.
The granules work via controlled release and will be effective against mosquito larvae for up to 3 weeks in standing water from the time it is applied. The small size of the granules also allows more to be dispersed over the target areas.
Granules can also be applied before flooding in areas where flooding is common. Put an end to costly, time-consuming and effort wasting in reapplying and use Altosid XR-G.
Tools Needed
Altosid XRG comes ready to use with no tool required for its application.
How to Use
- Step 1: Analyze your yard and observe area where you see stagnant water or water accumulation.
- Step 2: Using the application rate table which comes on the product label, measure and then scatters the suggested amount of Altosid XRG evenly over the surface of the water to be treated. The granules put a stop to mosquito larvae transitioning into adults, including those which may transmit harmful diseases such as West Nile and the Zika virus. Altosid can work for up to 3 weeks after application.
- Step 3: For continued mosquito control, you should apply Altosid pro G every 21 days throughout the active mosquito season.
Where to Use
Altosid XRG should ideally be applied in the water where mosquitoes breed. Some of the prime areas around the home which can be breeding grounds for mosquitoes include: birdbaths, flowerpots, ornamental fountains, gutters, rain barrels, pool covers, puddles, horse troughs, and other water-holding receptacles.
When to Use
Use this product when mosquitoes are active especially after rainfall when there may be a lot of different areas around your yard where water has accumulated (birdbaths, puddles, ditches, old tires, etc.)
Safety Information
Altoside XRG is safe to use around children or pets when following the instructions on the label. Alwasy wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves as a precautionary measure when applying Altoside Pro G to standing water.
Special Considerations
There is a similar product Zoecon sells called Altosid Pro G. The difference between the two is that Altosid XR-G is a 21-day pellet sold in bulk and Altosid Pro G is a 30-day pellet and is only sold in a smaller container.
