Ally XP Herbicide

Ally XP Herbicide, manufactured by Dupont, is a consistent, low-use rate herbicide that keeps wheat (including durum), barley, triticale and fallow thriving by targeting broadleaf weeds quickly and effectively.

This water-dispersable granule herbicide contains metsulfuron methyl, which works by inhibiting a critical enzyme needed for plant growth. Because of its targeted mode of action and extremely low use rates, Ally XP Herbicide delivers powerful weed control with minimal product applied per acre. Despite the low use rate, this post-emergent delivers powerful systemic weed control, making it both efficient and economical against weeds like groundsel, purslane, and more.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Ally XP Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For fallow, wheat, barley, and triticale, apply 0.1 oz. of Ally XP Herbicide per 100 gallons of water per acre. Applications must include either a nonionic surfactant or a crop oil concentrate, except for grain sorghum. For non-ionic surfactants, use 0.5 to 4 pints per 100 gallons of spray solution. For spring wheat and spring or winter barley you will need to use 0.5 to 1 quart of non-ionic surfactant per 100 gallons of spray solution. To use crop oil concentrates or modified seed oil (MSO), apply 1 gallon per 100 gallons spray solution. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.  
• Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and pour in the remaining half of the water. Add the non-ionic surfactant, crop oil concentrate or MSO to the spray tank last. Close the tank lid and agitate until fully mixed.
• Step 3: Calibrate your sprayer nozzle to deliver a precise spray pattern and maintain even boom height. Spray the top and bottom of weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. 

Where to Use

Ally XP Herbicide can only be used in wheat (including durum), barley, triticale and fallow. 

Do not use on lawns, walks, driveways, tennis courts, golf courses, athletic fields, commercial sod operations, or other high-maintenance, fine turfgrass areas, or similar areas.

Do not apply to wheat, barley or triticale undersown with legumes, as injury to the forage may result.

When to Use

It may be used as a fallow treatment, in the spring or fall when the majority of weeds have emerged and are actively growing.

For dryland wheat, barley and triticale (except durum variety), make applications after the crop is in the 2-leaf stage but before boot.

For durum variety spring wheat, make applications after the crop is tillering but before boot.

Irrigated wheat and barley can be treated after the crop begins tillering, but before boot. First post-treatment irrigation should be delayed for at least 3 days after treatment and should not exceed 1 inch of water.

Do not apply during boot and early heading, as crop injury may result.

Safety Information

Ally XP Herbicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Keep people and pets out of the treated area until 4 hours have passed or until sprays have dried.

Special Considerations

This product is not registered for use in Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, RioGrande, and Saquache counties of Colorado.

Do not apply or drain or flush equipment on or near desirable trees or other plants, or on areas where their roots extend, or in locations where the product may be washed or moved into contact with their roots, as injury or loss of desirable trees or other plants may result.

Effectiveness may be reduced if rainfall occurs within 4 hours after application.
