Advion Ant Gel Bait
Advion Ant Gel Bait
Advion Ant Gel Bait, manufactured by Syngenta, is an effective ant killer designed to be desirable to all major species of ants. Indoxacarb, the active ingredient in Advion Ant Gel, is a non-repellant insecticide.
The gel is consumed by the workers and taken back to the colony to be shared, providing a high kill rate, eliminating the colony in a short period of time. The gel bait leaves no residue and carries no odor.
Tools Needed
There are no tools needed to apply Advion Ant Bait as it comes ready to use right out of the package. However, if you choose to, you can optionally apply the product with the help of a bait gun (sold separately).
How To Use
- Step 1: Identify the ant to be sure it is one on the label, once determined that it is then you will need to thoroughly inspect the infested area to determine what areas you need to apply the bait.
- Step 2: Sanitize areas removing all potential food sources. Use only a rag with warm water and mild soap as household cleaners can actually deter ants from the bait.
- Step 3: Advion Ant Gel can be applied either as dots of gel or small lines of gel. Apply 0.1 to 1.0 gram spots of Advion Ant Gel or approximately 1/4 of an inch in diameter spots. Apply lines of Advion Ant Gel of approximately 1/8 of an inch wide and 2 inches long; up to 3 inches long for highly active foraging trails.
- Step 4: Apply as many placements of Advion Ant Gel as possible to active foraging areas without disrupting the natural foraging behavior of ants. Check the bait at least once a month and repeat process as needed.
Where To Use
Advion Ant Gel Bait is intended to be used indoors to address ant issues but can also be used outdoors. Use sites include single and multi-family residential buildings, schools, commercial and industrial facilities (including warehouses, apartments, supermarkets, restaurants, motels, hotels, hospitals, zoos, food handling/ storage establishments), and transportation equipment such as aircraft, trains, ships, boats, buses. Focus bait placement in areas like the kitchen, bathrooms, cabinets, under sinks, in weep holes, and other entry points to the house.
When To Use
Use Advion Ant Gel Bait when you need to control ants in residential, institutional, commercial and industrial areas. Ants are most active between the Spring and Summer months.

Q:can unused tubes be put in freezer to extend life?4/9/22A:I have stored this ant gel bait at at room temperature, not storage building temp, for years and it was still effective. I do not know the effect it would have when thawing out the product on it's consistency. You can tell when it is stored in warmer temps when it begins to get dark colored. I do not think freezing is really necessary with the shelf life at room temperature.

Q:How toxic is advion ant gel to humans?5/31/19A:I use this all the time and it provides longer times without ants than anything else. I cannot tell the exact toxicity, but our exterminator uses this without gloves and gets on his bare hands repeatedly for years and has not seemed to had any health issues or reactions. I talked to friends that used different pest control products that when on their bare skin had immediate reactions.
