Advance Termite Bait Monitoring Stations (TBS)
Advance Termite Bait Monitoring Stations (TBS)
Advance Termite Bait Monitoring Stations, manufactured by BASF, is in-ground device placed around a home or building structure that detects termits and works to prevent these pests before they reach your home or structure.
When there is termite activity, the termite inspection cartridge is replaced with a bait cartridge consisting of puri-cell monitoring tablets. The termites will take the bait from the cartridge and bring it to the colony, killing the colony in approximately 60 days depending on the level of infestation.
When the termites are gone, the bait cartridge can be replaced with a new termite inspection cartridge to continue the process of preventing termites from ripping through a home causing expensive damages. Advance Termite Bait Monitoring Stations are a great accessory to have when protecting a home or structure from subterranean termites.
Tools Needed
An auger, shovel or post hole digger can be used to dig the hole where the bait station will be placed. The spider specialty tool will be needed to open the cover and a cotter pin tool will be needed to pull out the termite inspection or bait cartridge.
How to Use
- Step 1: Mark locations around the building structure for the bait stations to be placed.
- Step 2: Dig a hole at least 6 to 7 inches deep and place the wooden based and termite inspection cartridge filled bait station with the head of the station flush with the ground.
- Step 3: Check each station every 3 months for termite activity. If termite activity is present, replace the termite inspection cartridge with a termite bait cartridge and replace the bait cartridge until termite activity is no longer evident.
- Step 4: Check the bait cartridge every 60 days and continue replacing the bait cartridge until termite activity is no longer evident.
- Step 5: When termite activity has completely stopped, clean out the station, place the monitoring cartridge back in the station, and repeat the process.
Where to Use
Advance Termite Bait Monitoring Stations can be used around any residential or building subjected to termites. Bait stations should be placed in the ground 10-20 feet a part and either inside or outside the gutter drip line or at least 2 to 3 feet away from the foundation.
When to Use
Advance Termite Bait Monitoring Stations are more beneficial when applied before termites have entered a residential or building structure and used as a prevention method. Once termites have entered a structure, other methods of elimination are necessary.
Safety Information
Advance Termite Bait Monitoring Stations are safe when used according to the product label. When installing the stations in the ground be sure they are flush to the ground and out of the way of mowing equipment. Keep termite bait cartridges away from children and pets.
Special Considerations
If there is mold or water damage to the wooden bases in the Advance Termite Bait Monitoring Station, replace the pieces as the damage will cause termites to turn away from the station to another location.
