A-Rest Plant Growth Regulator is manufactured by SePro and is a PGR that produces a more compact plant via inhibiting gibberellin biosynthesis. With A-Rest Growth Regulator, growers are able to produce high-quality plants that are more compact, uniform in height, and darker in color. Because of their compact size and the fact that they need less water, plants grown with A-Rest Plant Growth Regulator are able to better withstand shipping, transplants and transportation.

Tools Needed

To use A-Rest you will need a handheld sprayer or backpack sprayer.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much A-Rest you need, by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, multiply the width by the length to get the area in square feet. The recommended rate for applying A-Rest varies depending on the desired concentration from 0.25 fl. oz per gallon to a max of 64 fl. oz. per gallon to treat 200 sq. ft.
  • Step 2:Fill your sprayer with the appropriate amount of water and then add the appropriate measured amount of A-Rest depending on the plant you are treating. Agitate until well-mixed and you're ready to apply.
  • Step 3: Apply the A-Rest uniformly as a foliar spray, making sure that you concentrate on spraying the foliage uniformly to the point of runoff. You could also apply as a drench to potted soil 12 to 24 hours after watering the crop.

Where to Use

A-Rest PGR can be used on ornamentals such as bedding plants, herbaceous plants, perennials, container ornamentals and shrubs in greenhouses, shadehouses, outdoor nurseries and interiorscapes.

When to Use

Apply A-Rest when the plant is still small or young, just before the plant's rapid growth phase. As plants grow, much higher rates of A-Rest are required to maintain the same degree of height control.

Safety Information

A-Ret PGR is safe to use when it has been applied properly according to the label and has been given time to dry. Be sure to wear the proper PPE before mixing and applying A-Rest (gloves, protective eyewear, particle mask, long sleeve clothing, closed-toed shoes).

Special Considerations

The amount of A-Rest required on a plant you want controlled growth depends upon pot size, stage of growth, method of application, light intensity and other variables labeled. Cultural practices like watering, potting media, fertilization and temperature also affect the growth response to a given application dosage.
