Southern Ag Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec, manufactured by Southern Agricultural Products, is a lawn-safe weed killer concentrate that kills a broad-spectrum of emerged broadleaf weeds on up to nine types of residential turf.

This selective post-emergent herbicide contains 3 proven weed killers such as mecrocrop, 2,4-D, and dicamba. Together, these actives ingredients provide systemic control, meaning they don’t just burn the leaves but move down into the weed’s root system, preventing regrowth and offering longer-lasting results against weeds like buttercup, poison ivy, and many more.

Southern Ag Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec is an excellent patented herbicide blend that easily controls broadleaf weeds while being gentle on sensitive types of warm-seasoned and cool-seasoned lawns. Its ability to work on nine different turf types, tackle a wide variety of broadleaf weeds, and kill them down to the roots makes it an essential product for homeowners serious about lawn care.

Tools Needed

A hose-end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or backpack sprayer is required.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Southern Ag Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For St. Augustinegrass, Bentgrass, and Buffalograss, mix 1 fl. oz. of Southern Ag Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec per 1 gallon of water to treat 400 sq. ft. To treat Bermudagrass, Bahiagrass, Kentucky bluegrass, Centipedegrass, Fescues, Perennial ryegrass, and Zoysiagrass, apply 1 1/2 fl. oz. of product in 1 gallon of water to treat 400 sq. ft. On hard-to-kill weeds or older weeds, use 2 fl. oz. of product per 1 gallon of water per 400 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: To mix this product in a sprayer, fill the tank halfway with water, add the recommended amount of product, then fill the rest with water while stirring gently to ensure even mixing. For a hose-end sprayer, attach the sprayer to your garden hose, add the specified amount of weed killer to the sprayer reservoir, and start watering. The sprayer will automatically mix and apply the correct solution as you spray.
  • Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of weeds until they are lightly wet, but not dripping. Do not water for 24 hours after application. If necessary, repeat treatments when 2 to 3 weeks have passed after the first application. The maximum number of broadcast applications is limited to 2 per year.
