Keith's Pro Tips

"Don't wait until the bulb totally goes out to replace a fly light bulb. As soon as a bulb starts to dim, that drastically reduces it's luring power. You have to keep bulbs glowing at full strength for best trapping results."

Fly Light Replacement Bulbs

Fly Lights are an effective means of fly control and one of the main reasons why is the attractiveness of the bulb when the fly light is lit. Flies will not be able to resist the fluorescent glow of a fly light and before they know it, they are trapped by the fly light contraption.

However, over time fly light bulbs go out, thus reducing the effectiveness of the fly light setup. Before long, your fly problem will return unless you replace your fly light bulbs promptly. At Solutions Pest & Lawn, we carry reliable replacement bulbs for a number of different fly light manufacturers.

Our Recommendation

Fly Light Bulbs

When replacing light bulbs on your fly light model, our top recommendation are the 25W x 18 Inch Shatter Resistant Bulbs. These replacement bulbs are economically priced and are sold individually. At its size, the bulbs can fit multiple models of fly light traps like the Solutions Uplight, Professional 2x2 and 1x2 light traps.

Installation Guide

Step 1: Open the Fly Light Cover

Unplug the unit and then pop open the cover of your Fly Light trap model. This should be easy to do and requires no tools. The cover should open out and hang down, giving you easy access to the bulbs that need replacing inside.

Step 2: Replace the Bulbs

Twist off the old bulbs and then replace them with the new bulbs, making sure they are securely in place.

Step 3: Close the Cover and Power On

Shut the fly light trap's cover until it snaps closed. Now you can plug the fly light back into the outlet and your fly light is all set to attract flies once again.

Inspection and Maintenance

The key to keeping your fly light unit working properly is regular inspection and maintenance. You should inspect your unit at least once a month to check the quality of your bulbs and whether they are starting to dim.

Over time the UV bulbs will wear out and lose effectiveness as a lure. Bulbs need to be replaced at least once per year, approximately every 9 months. However, it’s best to inspect them regularly to ensure they remain constantly effective.
