Dominion PT, manufactured by Control Solutions Inc, is a professional liquid termiticide product used to establish an barrier in and around structures and building construction to prevent and control termite or wood-infesting insect outbreak.

This product is formulated with an active ingredient of imidacloprid 42.30%, to attack the nervous system of targeted subterranean termites, drywood termites, dampwood termites, carpenter ants, and other wood-infesting insects for effective control.

As a non-repellent product, Dominion PT will release chemicals into the treatment area without alerting targeted insects. The targeted insects will enter the treatment area and make contact with Dominion PT and slowly begin to die or spread the product to other areas where insects may infest.

Tools Needed

To apply Dominion PT, a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or professional skid sprayer is needed. When treating for subterranean termites, tools for trenching such as a shovel and wheelbarrow are needed.

For other applications, rodding equipment and termiticide injection equipment can be used.

How to Use

Spraying for Termites

  • Step 1: Determine how much Dominion PT you will need for your application by first calculating the square footage of the area to be treated. To do this, you will need to measure in feet and multiply the area length times the width (length x width = square footage). Subterranean termites application rates will vary due to regulations, treatment procedures, soil types, and construction practices within your area. For a typical termite control situation, use a 0.05% emulsion concentrate, mix 0.15 oz. of Dominion PT per 1 gallon of water. For a severe infestation make 0.1% emulsion concentrate mix by adding 0.3 oz. of Dominion PT with 1 gallon of water. For more specific application rates please refer to the label.
  • Step 2: Fill your selected sprayer about 1/3 of the way with water, add the appropriate amount of Dominion PT, then fill the sprayer the rest of the way with remaining amount of water. Close the sprayer and shake to ensure an even mix. Let pump run and allow recirculation through the hose for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Step 3: For exterior spraying, apply Dominion PT as a low pressure, coarse spray. Spray up to an 12 inch wide band around common insect entry points, such as around doors, windows, vents, where plumbing and wires penetrate walls, and any other openings. Also treat the perimeter of the structure by spraying one foot up the structure and one foot out. For termite trenching applications, dig a trench around the structure's perimeter 6 inches wide and 6 inches deep. Hang on to the displaced dirt as it will be used to back fill the trench after application. It is helpful to create a dam with the soil within your trench every 10 feet to section off each 10 foot stretch since you will be applying 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet. Spray your finished Dominion PT solution in each 10 foot stretch of trench. Then fill the trench back in with the displaced soil. For drilled holes into concrete slab or foundation plug and fill all the holes with a suitable sealant.

Where to Use

Dominion PT can be used on concrete slab-on-ground, basements, or surface of soil or other substrate covered by carports, porches, basement floors, and entrance platforms. The inside and outside of foundation walls, around piers, interior supports in contact with soil, plumbing, and utility services. Hollow block foundations or voids in masonry resting on the footing of foundation.

Treating voids in block or rubble foundation walls must be closely examined as applicators must determine if there a possibility of run-off.

Crawl spaces can only be treated by trenching or rodding downward along the inside and outside of foundation walls, around piers, or in contact with soil, plumbing, and utility services.

Do not apply Dominion PT into areas with plants or crops meant for consumption.

When to Use

Dominion PT should be used when treating the soil before home or building construction begins to stop subterranean termite and wood-eating insects infestations from occurring. It can also be applied to treat areas as soon as insect activity is discovered. For maximum results, it is best to apply during the fall (before ground is frozen) because insect activity is low.

Safety Information

Dominion PT is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the product label. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.

Allow for 48 hours to pass after application or until product has dried before allowing children, pets, and other individuals from entering treatment area.

Special Considerations

Dominion PT should only be applied after all petals have fallen off plants to protect beneficial insects like bees. This product primarily works in pre-construction treatments and will not leave a long lasting effect on your property.

Consult with State, Federal, or local authorities as some proximities close to water supplies may require approval or permits.
