Diuron 80DF Herbicide
Diuron 80DF Herbicide
Diuron 80DF is manufactured by Alligare and is a post-emergent, non-selective herbicide designed to control various types of grasses and broadleaf weeds. It can also be used as a selective pre-emergent herbicide in croplands. It controls barnyardgrass, crabgrass, quack grass, pigweed, horseweed, and more. Diuron 80DF is a water-dispersible granule and can also be applied to various croplands when used as a pre-emergent herbicide. It works with various types of soil textures and can also be applied as a dry granulated product with commercial broadcast spreading equipment.
Tools Needed
To apply Diuron 80DF as a ground application spray, a professional skid sprayer is needed. Diuron 80DF can be applied as a dry application with commercial grade broadcast spreading equipment that will allow even applications.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Diuron 80DF Herbicide you need by calculating the acreage of the treated area. To do this, you will need to measure and multiply the area (length x width) to get the square footage then divide by 43,560. How much Diuron you use will depend on where you are applying the product and what weeds you are trying to control. For general non-crop weed control, apply 5 to 15 lbs. per acre.
- Step 2: To use Diuron 80DF as a ground application spray, fill the spray tank with 1/3 to 1/4 of the way with the proper amount of water. Add the necessary amount of Diuron 80DF to the spray tank and begin the agitation process either mechanically or with hydraulics. The amount of Diuron 80 DF will vary depending on the type of soil, crop, and vegetation being controlled. Fill the spray tank with the rest of the required amount of water while continuing the agitation process and then you'll be ready to spray.
- Step 3: Apply the spray mixture to targeted areas making sure to get even coverage by using a fan spray setting.
Where to Use
Diuron 80DF is used as a pre-emergent, selective herbicide on various types croplands and as a non-selective herbicide along railroads, industrial land areas, roadways, utility right-of-ways, and other non-cropland areas.
When to Use
Diuron 80DF can be used as pre-emergent herbicide. For maximum benefits, it is suggested to apply Diuron 80DF before crops and weeds emerge because it will prevent the seedlings from being able to compete with the crop.
Diuron 80DF can be applied as a post-emergent herbicide, but only on specific crops and non-crop areas. Refer to the label for the list of crops that can be treated with Diuron 80DF as a post-emergent herbicide.
Safety Information
Diuron 80DF is safe to use when applied according to label directions. Diuron 80DF is not suitable for use in residential areas. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment when mixing and applying Diuron DF.
Special Considerations
The level of control and the residual effects of Diuron 80DF depends on the amount of solution applied, soil type, amount of rainfall, and other situations. Read the product label completely before applying Diuron, as it can be harmful to specific crops if applied as a post-emergent herbicide.

60% covered in lilies and smart grass also called alligator grass. That was five weeks past.
Pond now is clear of aquatic nuisances. The product I used was Diuron 80. I have previously
used a product titled Diurex. It’s active ingredient is Diuron 40. Not very effective for the application that I used the Diuron 80 for.
In fact it was a waste of time and cost.
