Diuron 80df Herbicide

Diuron 80 DF Herbicide

Diuron 80 DF Herbicide is a dispersible granule, mixed with water and applied as a spray to the surface of the ground, pond or dugout for control of weeds and/or algae. Effects are slow to appear and will not become apparent until the chemical has been absorbed into the plant and trans-located into the leaves. Diuron 80 DF is noncorrosive to equipment, nonvolatile and non-flammable.

Non-Crop Weed Control

Diuron 80 DF is an effective general herbicide for the control of many annual and perennial grasses and herbaceous weeds such as dandelion, goldenrod, thistle and milkweed on non-cropland areas where bare ground is desired. After an extended period of time, regrowth of plantain, thistle or wild carrot will indicate that re-treatment is necessary.

Diuron 80 DF may be used at any time, except when ground is frozen, providing adequate moisture is received by rainfall or artificial means. Best results are obtained when applied shortly before weed growth begins. Dense growth should be removed. The degree of control and duration of effect will vary with the amount of chemical applied, soil type, rainfall, and other conditions.

Diuron 80 DF should be used only in accordance with recommendations on this label. Before spraying, calibrate equipment to determine quantity of water necessary to uniformly cover area to be treated. Accurately weigh amount of Diuron 80 DF required and mix into necessary volume of water. Water serves only as a carrier. Except for small areas, use fixed-boom power sprayers properly calibrated to insure constant rate of application. Openings in screens should be equal to or larger than 50 mesh.

Material must be kept in suspension at all times by agitation, preferably continuous mechanical or hydraulic means in the spray tank. If bypass or return line is used, it should terminate at bottom of tank to minimize foaming. Do not use air agitation. For general weed control in small areas, tank-type hand sprayer or sprinkling can be used; shake or stir frequently.

I want to use this on my drivway. How much product should I use per gallon of water to do a complete kill figuring I'll wet the entire driveway? Anyone that has done this thanks
Gregory on May 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Durian 80df is a very effective product... in that it will eliminate all vegetation that it comes in contact with. If there is any run-off from the driveway, such as from future rains before it is absorbed - the lawn will be toast for the life of the Durion. So don't be afraid to use it - just be careful & don't put so much on that it will affect adjoining vegetation.
I use it around the edge of the pond where any runoff is into the water where it is diluted. It is very effective & use it each year.
Should this be watered in after I've applied this to my weeds?
Selena T on Jun 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Alligare Diuron 80DF is a dispersible granule to be mixed with water and applied as a spray
for selective control of weeds in certain crops and for non-selective weed control on noncropland
areas. It is non-corrosive to equipment, non-flammable, and non-volatile.
Alligare Diuron 80DF may be applied to soil prior to emergence of weeds to control susceptible
weed seedlings for an extended period of time. The degree of control and duration of
effect will vary with the amount of chemical applied, soil texture, rainfall, and other conditions.
Soils high in clay or organic matter require higher dosages than soils low in clay or organic
matter for equivalent herbicide performance. Moisture is required to activate the herbicide.
Best results occur if rainfall (or sprinkler irrigation) occurs within 2 weeks of application.

Easy granules to use, just sprinkle it on or mix it with water & spray.
Use wherever you don't want vegetation, in fence rows, ditches, etc. Just be aware that when heavy rains come it will run off where you might not want it if hasn't soaked into the ground yet.
