Diuron 80DF Herbicide
Diuron 80DF Herbicide is a water-soluble granulated herbicide that controls grasses and broadleaf weeds. It can be applied as a pre-emergent or post-emergent treatment. It can be safely used as a selective herbicide for various crops or a non-selective herbicide for non-cropland sites.
09/25/25
Diuron 80DF Herbicide, manufactured by Alligare, is a post-emergent, non-selective herbicide that controls various grasses and broadleaf weeds.
It can also be used as a selective pre-emergent herbicide in croplands. It controls barnyard grass, crabgrass, quackgrass, pigweed, horseweed, and other weeds.
Diuron 80DF Herbicide is a water-dispersible granule that can be applied to various croplands as a pre-emergent herbicide. It works with various soil textures and can be applied as a dry granulated product with commercial broadcast spreading equipment.
Tools Needed
A professional skid sprayer is needed to apply Diuron 80DF as a ground application spray. However, it can also be a dry application with commercial-grade broadcast spreading equipment that will allow even applications.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Diuron 80DF Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, you will need to measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet, then multiply them together (length x width). For acreage, take the square footage, then divide by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). Apply 5 to 15 lbs. per acre for general non-crop weed control. Refer to the label for specific rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: To use Diuron 80DF as a ground application spray, fill the spray tank with 1/3 to 1/4 of the way with the proper amount of water. Add Diuron 80DF to the spray tank and begin the agitation process mechanically or with hydraulics. The amount of Diuron 80 DF will vary depending on the type of soil, crop, and vegetation being controlled. Fill the spray tank with the rest of the required amount of water while continuing the agitation process, and then you'll be ready to spray.
- Step 3: Apply the spray mixture to targeted areas, using a fan spray setting to ensure even coverage.
Where to Use
Diuron 80DF Herbicide is used as a pre-emergent, selective herbicide on various types of croplands and as a non-selective herbicide along railroads, industrial land areas, roadways, utility right-of-ways, and other non-cropland areas.
Not suitable for use in residential areas.
When to Use
This product can be used as a pre-emergent herbicide. For maximum benefits, Diuron 80DF should be applied before crops and weeds emerge because it will prevent the seedlings from competing with the crop.
Diuron 80DF can be applied as a post-emergent herbicide only on specific crops and non-crop areas. Refer to the label for the list of crops treated with Diuron 80DF as a post-emergent herbicide.
Safety Information
Diuron 80DF is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets out of treated areas until the spray has dried.
Special Considerations
The level of control and the residual effects of Diuron 80DF depend on the amount of solution applied, soil type, rainfall, and other situations. Read the product label completely before applying Diuron, as it can harm specific crops if applied as a post-emergent herbicide.
