Bonide Moletox Mole & Gopher Killer, manufactured by Bonide, is an economical zinc phosphide bait that puts an end to pesky burrowing pests like moles and pocket gophers in residential lawns. 

These easy-to-use granules work by killing these troublesome pests after they have ingested the product, resulting in death in a few days.

Bonide Moletox Mole & Gopher Killer is a convenient ready-to-use poisonous bait that stops the destructive damages to lawns and flower bulb planting at the start of fall from moles and pocket gophers.

Tools Needed

You will need a chemical-purpose teaspoon or long-handled spoon.

How to Use

• Step 1: Prior to treatment, determine which burrows are active according to one of the following two methods. Either press down a small section of the tunnel or remove a one-inch section of the tunnel’s roof. Mark these sections and recheck in 24 hours. The burrow is considered active if the flattened runway has been raised up or if the roof has been repaired. Only treat active burrows. 
• Step 2: Carefully punch a hole in the top of the active tunnels, drop a teaspoon amount of this product and carefully close the hole with sod or stone. Do not collapse the runway again or allow the loose soil to cover the bait. After a few days check to see if the burrows are still active according to one of the two methods described above. If so, repeat treatment. 
• Step 3: For conical mound treatments, remove the center plug from the conical mound with the aid of a long-handled spoon and drop a teaspoon amount of the product into the underground tunnel. Close the opening with a rock or sod. Do not allow loose dirt to cover the bait.
• Step 4: For flower bulb protection, pack about one-quarter inch of the soil against each bulb. Place several baits at the sides of and around the bulb. Then cover.
• Step 5: Wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of all dead, exposed animals. Dispose of the leftover bait in accordance with disposal instructions. Use detergent and hot water to wash spoons. Do not use the spoon for mixing, holding or transferring food or feed.

Where to Use

Bonide Moletox Mole & Gopher Killer can only be used in the tunnels and mounds of moles and pocket gophers in residential lawns. 

Do not apply in gardens and areas where food or feed may be contaminated.

When to Use

Apply when you first notice mounds or tunnels in your property and when you first notice signs of pest activity.

Bonide Moletox Mole & Gopher Killer is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product.

This product is extremely toxic to birds, fish, and other wildlife. Wildlife feeding on treated bait may be killed. 

Dogs, cats, and other predatory and scavenging mammals and birds might be poisoned if they feed upon animals that have eaten this bait. 

Special Considerations

Do not apply this product by use of an artificial burrow builder.
