The Flow Meter Assembly - Gen III+ BRASS (Part Number 10986) is a specialty part manufactured by Mistaway and is an important component to ensure that your MistAway Mosquito Misting System works properly. The flow meter is the gray component with the red and black leads located against the back right wall of the unit. This component was used in Gen 3 units sold between the years 2007 to 2011. It is no longer available and must be replaced with a brass flow meter. This also requires replacing both the controller and the wiring harness in the unit.

Upgrading Gen 3 from a Plastic flow meter to a Brass flow meter requires that a Brass Flow meter Assembly (#10986) be purchased and installed and it also requires a hardware and firmware upgrade for your unit controller. Call us for more details.

Tools Needed

To install the Flow Meter Assembly (after a firmware update and wire harness change), you will need a pair of zip tie snips.

How to Use

• Step 1: Remove controller following MistAway's instructions and send to MistAway for upgrade. MistAway will return the upgraded controller to you with new brass flow meter assembly and wiring harness.
• Step 2:Remove gray plastic flow meter and install brass flow meter. Cut the zip tie securing the wiring harness after removing the shroud and disconnect and remove the flow meter and replace with the brass flow meter.
• Step 3: Following MistAway's directions, replace the wiring harness and connect the upgraded controller.

Where to Use

The Flow Meter Assembly is used to replace the old styled plastic flow meter that is no longer available. Once it malfunctions you will need to upgrade to a brass flow meter..

When to Use

Replace the old gray plastic flow meter with the new brass style flow meter when your misting system is not properly indicating the level of fluid in the tank.

Special Considerations

It is important to note, if you are upgrading from the older GRAY PLASTIC flow meter to this newer brass flow meter assembly, it is NOT an even swap. There will be round trip shipping of your controller because the pins inside are different so your controller will need upgrading. Because the pins are different a new wiring harness replacement will be necessary.
